An interview with Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal, Founder & MD, Inspira Global
In this interview, we skeak with Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal, the visionary Founder and Managing Director of Inspira Global.
With a passion for innovation and sustainability, Aayush has transformed his entrepreneurial dreams into a thriving enterprise that aims to make a significant impact on global challenges.
He shares his insights on leadership, the importance of purpose-driven business, and the future of Inspira Global.
What inspired you to establish Inspira Global, and what was the initial vision behind the company?
Aayush Agrawal: Inspira Global was born from a vision to build businesses that are innovative, scalable, and impactful across multiple industries.
I wanted to create brands that not only excel in their respective sectors but also contribute to the broader economy by supporting local supply chains, creating employment, and embracing technological advancements.
Whether it’s food services or real estate, Inspira Global is built on a foundation of continuous improvement, disruption, adaptability, and a long-term growth mindset.
The goal was always to challenge the status quo—whether in the QSR space with Lenexis Foodworks, real estate with Inspira Realty, frontier technologies with Xilix MaterialBio, or global trade with Inspira EXIM—by focusing on quality-driven, well-planned developments.
Today, with Chinese Wok emerging as India’s largest homegrown Chinese QSR brand with 200+ outlets and a strong cloud kitchen presence through Big Bowl, we’ve successfully created a scalable model that competes with global players.
Similarly, our real estate portfolio has expanded with a ₹4,000 crore project pipeline, reinforcing our commitment to quality urban developments.
I believe that the key to building a lasting business is staying ahead of industry trends, continuously innovating, fulfilling customer demand, and most importantly, executing with discipline.
What challenges did you encounter when starting Inspira Global, and how did you navigate those obstacles?
Aayush Agrawal: Scaling multiple businesses across different industries comes with its own set of challenges—navigating fragmented markets, building a reliable supply chain, and ensuring each brand maintains its unique identity while operating under the larger Inspira Global umbrella.
When expanding Chinese Wok, the challenge wasn’t just competing with international QSR giants but also creating a standardized, scalable model that balanced affordability and profitability.
We invested heavily in backend infrastructure, technology-driven kitchen management, and strategic brand positioning to build consumer trust.
Additionally, securing prime locations is critical for growth, and with increasing competition, finding the right real estate has become more crucial than ever.
With Inspira Realty, the focus was on establishing trust on the ‘Inspira Group’ brand and delivering well-planned projects that meet the evolving demands of urban living.
The real estate sector demands patience and precision—delays, regulatory approvals, and market fluctuations all need to be managed carefully.
We tackled this by focusing on execution excellence, strong financial planning, and ensuring transparency with all stakeholders.
For Inspira Exim, the biggest challenge has been navigating the complexities of global trade, including volatile commodity prices, regulatory shifts, and supply chain disruptions.
Establishing strong international partnerships while ensuring compliance with evolving trade policies has required a meticulous approach.
We’ve tackled this by diversifying sourcing strategies, leveraging data-driven forecasting, and strengthening risk mitigation frameworks to maintain consistent operations.
Xilix MaterialBio (XMB), being in biotech, faces challenges unique to R&D-heavy industries, such as long product development cycles, regulatory approvals, and high capital investment.
The key to overcoming these challenges has been agility—constantly reassessing strategies, leveraging technology, identifying new areas to serve customers, and surrounding myself with experts who bring deep industry knowledge.
Having strong in-house teams and partnerships has been crucial in managing complexities across different sectors.
How do you ensure that your products or services align with the values and mission of Inspira Global?
Aayush Agrawal: At Lenexis Foodworks, we focus on consistency in taste, streamlined supply chains, and ensuring the highest hygiene standards in our kitchens.
We’ve built a strong backend supply network that not only maintains quality with precision-driven recipes, and real-time data tracking, we ensure that every Chinese Wok outlet delivers the same bold, flavourful experience no matter the location but also optimizes efficiency, allowing us to scale at speed.
With Chinese Wok and Big Bowl now at 200+ outlets and growing, our commitment to operational excellence and improved customer experience is stronger than ever.
In real estate, we are committed to developing future-ready properties that enhance urban living—whether it’s premium residences, commercial spaces, or industrial parks that drive economic activity.
We are strategically expanding into high-growth micro-markets, ensuring that our developments align with evolving consumer needs and urban planning trends.
Beyond operations, we emphasize long-term impact—whether it’s through our commitment to ‘Make in India,’ creating employment, fulfilling customer demand, or ensuring that our businesses generate real value in the markets we operate in.
Our mission is not just to build companies but to build ecosystems where businesses, communities, and stakeholders grow together.
How do you envision the future of Inspira Global over the next five years?
Aayush Agrawal: The next five years are going to be about strategic, high-growth expansion, with a focus on both geographical reach and operational excellence.
For Lenexis Foodworks, we see Chinese Wok as India’s dominant homegrown QSR brand. The plan is to cross 500 outlets by 2027 and setting the benchmark for Indo-Chinese cuisine globally.
Big Bowl’s cloud kitchen network will further push the boundaries of convenient, high-quality meals. We also see potential international expansion, as Indian brands now have the opportunity to scale globally.
Inspira Realty is on a strategic growth trajectory, targeting 8-10 new acquisitions this year through society redevelopments across Mumbai’s western and southern belt, with an expected ₹4,000 crore GDV and a topline exceeding ₹5,000 crore.
Our revenue goal for this segment is ₹1,000 crore ARR by FY26, driven by aggressive growth in both physical stores and delivery channels.
The company has already begun 2025 with a new Development Agreement in Borivali, while another project in Santacruz is nearing closure.
With over 2 million sq. ft. of ongoing and planned residential developments across seven projects in Mumbai, Inspira is also expanding beyond the city with 232 acres of industrial plots and 28 acres of residential projects in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, reinforcing its commitment to high-quality urban and industrial developments that ensure long-term value creation.
Beyond India, we’re also looking at global expansion. With Xilix MaterialBio, our biotech venture, the goal is to bring cutting-edge innovation from Switzerland and the US to India, leveraging global expertise to develop solutions with real-world applications. Inspira Exim will continue strengthening international trade ties, making cross-border commerce more seamless.
Inspira Global is not just about building businesses—it’s about creating industry leaders that set new benchmarks in every sector we operate in, while continuously improving operations and identifying new industries to serve customers.
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to make a positive impact in their industries?
Aayush Agrawal: Every inefficiency hides a business opportunity—waiting not just to be seen, but seized. The real game-changer isn’t just having ideas, but relentlessly executing them to build something that lasts.
Don’t be afraid to take risks, but back them up with strong fundamentals, a scalable model, and a deep understanding of your industry. Execution is everything—an idea is only as good as its ability to be implemented successfully.
Also, be obsessed with quality and customer experience. Whether you’re serving food, developing real estate, or launching a biotech venture, trust is the foundation of any successful business.
Finally, surround yourself with the right people. A great team is what transforms a vision into reality. Invest in your employees, empower them, and create a culture where innovation and ownership thrive.
Manpower growth is crucial to ensuring that your business remains adaptable and resilient in an evolving market.
Can you discuss any partnerships or collaborations that have been instrumental in the growth of Inspira Global?
Aayush Agrawal: Strong, collaborative partnerships have been a major driver of Inspira Global’s success. We firmly believe that growth is not just about scaling businesses but also about empowering those who grow with us—our suppliers, partners, and employees.
In the QSR space, collaborations with suppliers, backend infrastructure providers, and delivery platforms have helped us scale Chinese Wok and Big Bowl rapidly.
We’ve invested in centralized kitchens and advanced logistics to ensure consistency and efficiency across all locations. This has allowed our partners to grow along with us, ensuring mutual success.
In real estate, we’ve worked closely with top architects, consultants, and project management firms to develop properties that meet global standards.
By fostering long-term relationships with our development partners, we ensure that every project aligns with our shared vision of quality, trust, and sustainability.
Beyond these sectors, we see collaborations as key drivers in biotech and international trade, where working with the right global players unlocks tremendous value.
By prioritizing a growth-led, empowerment-driven approach, we ensure that every stakeholder in the Inspira ecosystem thrives together.
Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal’s journey exemplifies the power of vision and determination in driving meaningful change.
As Inspira Global continues to grow, Aayush remains committed to fostering innovation and sustainability, inspiring future entrepreneurs to pursue their passions while making a positive impact on the world.
His insights serve as a guiding light for those looking to navigate the complexities of modern business with purpose and integrity.
