Adani Wilmar Ltd has announced the acquisition of Kohinoor Foods Ltd, a leading Basmati rice company in India. This move strengthens Adani Wilmar’s leadership in the Basmati rice business and provides a strong platform for further growth.
Adani Wilmer Limited (AWL), the country’s fastest-growing consumer goods maker by revenue and owned by Gautam Adani, has acquired the packaged food brand Kohinoor from American giant McCormick for an undisclosed amount.
In addition to the premium basmati rice brand, the deal includes its umbrella brands such as Charminar and Trophy, with a total value of around Rs. 115 crores.
Kohinoor Foods is a well-recognized brand in the Basmati rice segment, with a large portfolio of high-quality products. The company already has an established distribution network and a strong retail presence across the country.
With this acquisition, Adani Wilmar is well poised to deliver innovative products in the Basmati rice category and cater to a larger customer base than ever before.
