Adobe’s Indian-born CEO, Shantanu Narayan Would Never Have Left Hyderabad For The US if He Were Growing Up Now.

December 16, 2022: “I always tell entrepreneurs that a crisis is a terrible thing to waste. Shantanu Narayan, the Indian-origin CEO of Adobe, told the entrepreneurs, Entrepreneurship never takes no for an answer.

The 59-year-old was honored with the title of CEO of the year 2022 during the TiE Global Summit 2022. Shantanu Narayan, the Indian-origin chief executive of global software company Adobe, is one of the host of Indian-origin CEOs heading some of the world’s top companies like Google, Microsoft, Starbucks, etc.

A Hyderabad-born techie who moved to the US said Had he been born in the city at this time, would never have moved.

Highly bullish on the city’s current business environment, Narayan lauded the efforts of Telangana Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao and Secretary Jayesh Ranjan in terms of “creating an incredible and dynamic environment here in Hyderabad”.

“If I was growing up now, there was no way I could leave Hyderabad. There are many opportunities in Hyderabad and in India,” Narayan said at the inauguration of the TiE Global Summit in the capital city of Telangana.

Adobe CEO told entrepreneurs that there has never been a better time to become one, Narayan advised them to live their dreams and make the most of opportunities powered by emerging technologies.

The respected Indian-origin techie, fondly called Manavadu (one of his own), further advised entrepreneurs to never take no for an answer and stop chasing their dreams.

“What I always tell entrepreneurs is that a crisis is a terrible thing to waste,” Narayan said, citing Adobe’s decision to shift to a subscription model during the Great Recession nearly 15 years ago, which helped make it stronger.

On some of the qualities entrepreneurs should possess, the CEO said, “If you’re an impatient entrepreneur, that’s probably a quality worth appreciating.

Entrepreneurship never takes no for an answer. Narayan, who took over Adobe in 2007, said his goal as CEO is simply to say that he can’t be in a position where he’s trying to maintain the status quo.

Meanwhile, the 59-year-old was awarded the title of CEO of the year 2022 during the TiE Global Summit 2022.

On the occasion, Telangana Industries Minister Rao spoke about setting up Adobe’s next campus in the state.
