What motivated you to start Bachpan Play Schools, and how did you address the skepticism around preschool education at that time?
Ajay Gupta: While searching preschool for my daughter, I discovered that the available choices were disorganized and provided substandard education. This made me believe I could bring certain changes in the early childhood education industry.
Based on the philosophy “childhood comes only once”, we established Bachpan with a dream of providing quality education across India ensuring every child gets a strong foundation for his or her future learning and achievements.
The skepticism around preschool education stemmed mainly from the lack of age-appropriate teaching methods, systematic curriculum, and innovative learning tools for children. This is to say, the preschool segment in itself was largely unorganised.
So, understanding the gap meticulously, we addressed all these concerns with advanced play-way teaching methods for students, first-ever integrated curriculum, and in-house devised tech learning tools.
As the learning outcomes and holistic growth of our Bachpanites became increasingly distinctive, the said skepticism around preschools began to dissolve for us.
What are the main factors behind the rapid expansion of Bachpan Play Schools across India?
Ajay Gupta: The rapid expansion of Bachpan Play Schools across India is primarily due to our focus and dedication to provide the best education. Besides this, we are continuously upgrading the curriculum and are aligned with NEP 2020 and NCF policies.
We are also regularly training our teachers, counselors, and directors at every level. In addition, the constant support and services provided to the franchise partners enable them to deliver high quality education.
Bachpan incorporates various technologies like Smart Classes and Virtual Reality into its curriculum. How do you ensure these tools are effectively used to benefit young learners?
Ajay Gupta: Bachpan offers smart classes to young children, making learning fun and easy while strengthening their basic concepts. These classes focus on experiential learning, helping students retain what they learn for a long time.
We also use Virtual Reality to enhance learning. When kids see theoretical concepts in 3D, it takes learning to a whole new level.
As pioneers in tech-driven education, Bachpan provides speaking books and pens, allowing children to learn at their own pace.
This makes learning interactive and encourages self-directed study. Additionally, our Robotime Kit supports futuristic learning. Kids develop logical reasoning and robotics skills naturally, opening up numerous future career opportunities and preparing them for success.
How do you develop and maintain an age-appropriate curriculum that meets the diverse needs of preschool children at Bachpan?
Ajay Gupta: At Bachpan, we develop and maintain an age-appropriate curriculum that meets the diverse needs of preschool children without burdening them with exams. Our well-researched curriculum ensures systematic and age-appropriate learning.
Teachers assess children’s progress monthly and take appropriate measures to help them reach their full potential.
Additionally, Friendly staff, child-friendly infrastructure, and a safe environment are other features that make Bachpan Play Schools highly sought.
With the success of Bachpan, you have ventured into formal schooling and higher education. How do these initiatives align with the goals of Bachpan, and what are your plans for the future?
Ajay Gupta: To give students a top-notch educational experience, Bachpan Play Schools has successfully grown, and expanded into higher education.
We concentrate on supporting growth and academic achievement from early childhood schooling to higher education levels. To better prepare students for the problems of the future, we intend to expand on current curricular enhancements and add state-of-the-art instructional tools.
