Meet Aman Duggal, a multi-faceted individual excelling in the realms of science, fitness, and education. As a scientific author, fitness coach, and the visionary founder of Aman Duggal University, he embodies a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a commitment to holistic well-being.

What are the common challenges you observe students facing when trying to make a career in the fitness industry, and how does your university address these challenges?
Aman Duggal: At Aman Duggal University (ADU), we recognize two common challenges students face when pursuing a career in the fitness industry, that is, confidence and clarity. Many students struggle with presenting themselves effectively, both in person and through social media, which is crucial in an industry where personality plays a significant role alongside qualifications.
As there is not a set ladder to climb the fitness industry, a lot of students are unsure whether they should pursue online training, offline training, work with a company, pursue sponsorships, or become YouTubers.
What do they need to do exactly? Should they focus more time on making content? Should they write a blog? So, I help my students address this issue. I expose them to the different career opportunities available in the fitness industry and which are the best money makers and the most fulfilling career options that are out there.
What role does mindset play in achieving your career goals in the fitness industry, and how do you support your students in developing a positive mindset?
Aman Duggal: While mindset is crucial in any career, including fitness, I do not believe it requires a fundamentally different approach. However, given the prevalence of mental health struggles, we emphasize the importance of maintaining a positive attitude and prioritizing self-care.
Through theoretical modules on psychology and practical guidance on establishing morning routines and self-care practices, we support our students in developing a resilient and positive mindset to navigate the challenges of the fitness industry.
How do you tailor your education approach to accommodate students with varying education backgrounds – science, commerce, arts and etc?
Aman Duggal: ADU adopts a tailored education approach that accommodates students with varying educational backgrounds, whether in science, commerce, arts, or others. We teach essential sciences from the ground up, ensuring that every student, regardless of prior knowledge, grasps the foundational concepts necessary for understanding nutrition and exercise.
No assumptions are made about students’ backgrounds, and there are no prerequisites based on education. Our goal is to make the material accessible and applicable to all students.
In your opinion, what are some misconceptions or myths prevalent in the fitness and nutrition industry, and how do you debunk them through ADU?
Aman Duggal: In the fitness industry, myths and misconceptions abound, making it challenging to discern evidence-based information. At ADU, we approach this issue head-on by fostering an environment of thorough inquiry and debate.
We encourage cross-questioning, peer review, and fact-checking to ensure that all claims are well-founded and scientifically sound. By consistently challenging ideas and inviting disagreements, we strive to debunk prevalent myths and equip our students with critical thinking skills.
What advice would you give to someone who is just starting their educational journey in nutrition and exercise science but feels overwhelmed or unsure where to begin?
Aman Duggal: For individuals embarking on their educational journey in nutrition and exercise science, feeling overwhelmed or uncertain is common. My advice is straightforward: consider joining Aman Duggal University.
By enrolling in our evidence-based courses, you’ll save time and effort, avoiding the need to unlearn misinformation from dubious sources prevalent in the fitness industry. If joining isn’t feasible immediately, we provide free resources on our website and social media channels. Remember, when evaluating information sources, prioritize those that encourage cross-questioning and healthy debate.
What are 3 ways in which ADU sets itself apart from the other institutions which offer fitness and nutrition education?
Aman Duggal: ADU distinguishes itself from other institutions offering fitness and nutrition education in three key ways. Firstly, we prioritize confidence and clarity, offering specialized courses to enhance students’ communication skills, vital for success in the industry.
Secondly, our tailored education approach accommodates students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring accessibility and understanding for all. Finally, we actively debunk myths and misconceptions prevalent in the fitness industry through rigorous inquiry and debate, fostering a culture of evidence-based practice and critical thinking.
