Ameera Shah, an Indian entrepreneur was born 24 September 1979 to Dr. Sushil Shah, a pathologist, the founder and chairman of Metropolis Healthcare, and Dr. Duru Shah, a gynecologist.

Ameera completed her commerce study from the junior college in H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. She received a finance degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Shah completed the prestigious Owner-President Management Program at Harvard Business School. Her elder sister Aparna Shah is a geneticist. Shah belongs to a family of doctors in Mumbai.

Ameera is the Managing Director of Metropolis Healthcare, a multinational chain of pathology labs. Metropolis Healthcare has a strong presence in more than 7 countries. Ameera Shah has been honored by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader 2015. Ameera was featured in the Forbes India’s Tycoons of Tomorrow 2018 list and also named to Fortune India’s “Most Powerful Women in Business” list.

Ameera started her work with Goldman Sachs in New York. Shah took over her father’s pathology business in 2001. She turned and transformed a single diagnostic lab into a 2000 crore empire.
