Ankit Chadha, Managing Director at TRC Consulting

An Exclusive Interview with Ankit Chadha, Managing Director at TRC Consulting, a forward-thinking consulting firm focused on driving business growth through expert advisory services

Ankit Chadha, Managing Director at TRC Consulting, leads one of the industry’s most forward-thinking consulting firms.

In this interview, he discusses how TRC leverages strategic insight, innovation, and expert advisory services to help businesses navigate challenges, accelerate growth, and achieve sustainable success in an ever-evolving market landscape.

Can you share your professional journey and what led you to your current role as Managing Director at TRC Consulting?

Ankit Chadha: I have been born to a family of accountants, so the journey was in a way decided at birth, right from an early age conversations were around the accounting practice, however as I grew up, I realised I had a greater calling for “Consulting” rather than pure accounting.

I undertook the challenge of leveraging the consulting business and deigned a way forward by picking up certain service lines that often get looked past even by large firms.

We developed a team around it and added our capabilities that led to a larger pool of talent and eventually client credentials. We have travelled from being a boutique consulting firm to one that has 10 offices pan-India and a strength of over 300 professionals.

How do you define TRC Consulting’s core philosophy and differentiator in a competitive consulting landscape?

Ankit Chadha: The core philosophy of TRC Corporate Consulting has been to foster the belief of “Growing as a Community”, we have always believed that bettering an individual leads to the betterment of the teams and the growth of a teams lead to the growth of an organization, and when you extrapolate that thought we are talking about the overall growth of the country and people.

This core belief has been instilled in me and that is the primary reason why we have now rebranded ourselves with the punchline “Lets Grow Together” that highlights this very aspect of our development as an organization which ensures all our stakeholders grow along with each other.

How do you balance short-term client needs with long-term strategic outcomes?

Ankit Chadha: We have a very strong policy of delivering the best of our professional support to all our clients, we typically do not back out of any project once we have committed to deliver the quintessential “goods”, that has also driven us to ensure we do a thorough analysis of our clients and the scope.

If there is any lacuna in the client’s mind or the scope we try and clear it out on day zero, on rare occasions if the short term views of the client do not align with our philosophy and strategic objectives, we politely decline from onboarding them as a client for that particular opportunity all this while maintaining and fomenting a strong relationship independent of the outcome.

Which industries do you see undergoing the most significant transformation today, and why?

Ankit Chadha: There are massive shifts that are afoot, with the advent of AI enabled solutions and data driven services. All businesses irrespective of sector are undergoing massive changes, that is also the norm.

The sectors which seem to be most affected by them are – IT-ITES; Healthcare; Financial Services and Supply Chain & E-Comm.

Given the sheer volumes at which the businesses of these sectors operate and expand the adoption of technology will certainly have the most impact on them. They also seem to be the one’s taking the early movers’ advantage under their belt and hence attracting significant investment both private and public capital.

Whether it is the automation of processes and development tools to help make them more agile and open to agentic AI models, these are the sectors that are at the very forefront.

Based on your experience, what common organisational challenges do clients face during transformation projects?

Ankit Chadha: Based on my personal experience of consulting clients across a varied spectrum, I can confidently say that most transformation projects stumble not because of strategy, but because of execution misalignment.

The biggest challenges we see are cultural resistance to change, lack of clarity in ownership, and inadequate communication across teams. Often, technology or process overhauls outpace people readiness leading to fatigue and gaps in adoption.

Successful transformations demand strong governance, consistent leadership communication, and a clear linkage between the change initiative and organisational purpose

Could you share a memorable consulting project that had a significant impact on a client organisation?

Ankit Chadha: One of our most impactful engagements was with a leading aviation company during a period of intense consolidation in the sector. As the client prepared for a merger, we were brought in to manage and re-map their asset base spread across multiple geographies.

Our mandate involved validating, classifying, and reconciling thousands of assets from ground equipment to technical spares ensuring a clean, accurate, and compliant fixed asset register.

This exercise not only unlocked significant balance-sheet efficiencies but also gave the management and auditors a single, reliable source of truth during the merger process. It became a game-changer, enabling a seamless integration and strengthening stakeholder confidence at a critical juncture for the organisation.

What advice would you give to young professionals aspiring to build a career in consulting?

Ankit Chadha: Consulting is as much about curiosity as it is about competence. Young professionals should focus on developing the ability to listen deeply, think critically, and adapt quickly. Every client, every problem, is unique, and that’s the beauty of this profession.

Don’t chase glamour; chase learning. The most successful consultants are those who stay humble, keep asking the right questions, and never stop connecting insights to impact.

With a vision centered on transformative growth, Ankit Chadha continues to position TRC Consulting as a trusted partner for progressive enterprises.

His leadership emphasizes agility, expertise, and client-centric strategies, reaffirming TRC’s role in shaping the future of consulting and driving tangible, long-term value across diverse business sectors.
