Apoorv Sen, Chief Operating Officer at Iconic Fashion

An Exclusive Interview with Apoorv Sen, Chief Operating Officer at Iconic Fashion, India’s premium fashion destination

Apoorv Sen, Chief Operating Officer at Iconic Fashion, India’s premium fashion destination, offers a glimpse into the brand’s journey of innovation, style, and customer-centric growth.

He shares insights on leadership, evolving fashion trends, and the strategies driving Iconic Fashion’s expansion across India’s competitive retail landscape.

Could you share your professional journey and what led you to join Iconic Fashion?

Apoorv Sen: Fashion has always been more than just an industry for me, it’s an evolving form of expression and identity.

Over the years, I’ve worked across various faces of the retail ecosystem, from merchandising to business strategy, which helped me understand what truly builds a brand that lasts.

Joining Iconic Fashion was a natural step forward. It allowed me to bring together my passion for brand building and my understanding of India’s dynamic consumer landscape.

Our mission at Iconic is to connect international fashion sensibilities with the new-age lifestyle of India, and that’s what fuels me daily.

How would you define Iconic Fashion’s philosophy and positioning in India’s premium retail segment?

Apoorv Sen: Iconic Fashion represents affordable luxury. It is about creating an ageless style and high quality for the contemporary Indian buyer who wants design and experience.

Our belief is simple – Bring the world’s best to India, and make it contextual. We carry international brands such as GANT, True Religion, Elle, and Antony Morato, among others, but we also make sure that our stores and online touchpoints are infused with the warmth and subtlety of Indian retail. We’re not selling fashion, we’re building an experience that is aspirational but accessible.

How have Indian shoppers’ preferences changed when it comes to premium and luxury fashion?

Apoorv Sen: The modern-day Indian consumer is a globally travelled, knowledgeable, and independent person. They no longer purchase based on labels, they want authenticity, craftsmanship, and identity in the clothes they wear.

We have experienced a robust move towards quiet luxury, stylish versatility, and thoughtful decisions. The Indian consumer is now looking for items that easily go from work to play with detail and quality in mind of the fabric.

Digital discovery and social media influencers also spurred this transformation. Consumers are now global-minded in taste but local-hearted.

Which upcoming fashion trends do you believe will dominate the next decade?

Apoorv Sen: I think the coming decade will be influenced by three trends: sustainability, personalization, and digital integration.

Fashion will shift further towards long-lasting basics, intelligent wardrobe editing, and thoughtful buys. And technology-facilitated personalized advice and online styling will aid consumers in making informed, personal decisions.

Concurrently, partnerships between global and local identities will increase, an outstanding example being our recent campaigns such as the GANT X Shahid Kapoor partnership, which celebrates global design from an Indian perspective.

What role does technology play in optimizing supply chain and inventory management for Iconic Fashion?

Apoorv Sen: Technology is the foundation of how we keep scaling while remaining nimble. We have installed data-led inventory management systems that study patterns of consumer demand by region and channel and enable us to maximize assortment and avoid wastage.

Our AI-powered technologies assist in forecasting what customers will shop for the next season so that each store will be “fresh” yet consistent with the brand DNA.

This technology-driven focus allows us to react to real-time trends without sacrificing quality or brand experience.

What are some innovations you’ve introduced to create a unified omnichannel experience?

Apoorv Sen: Consumers today expect a seamless transition between online and offline, and that’s where we’ve invested significantly.

From click and collect services and integrated loyalty programs to virtual try ons and AI based recommendations, we’re creating an environment where shopping feels fluid and personalized.

Whether you discover a GANT piece on our Instagram, try it virtually on our website, or walk into an Iconic store, the experience remains consistent, curated, and connected.

Iconic Fashion curates multiple global and Indian premium labels — how do you select and manage these brand partnerships?

Apoorv Sen: Curation is at the centre of Iconic. Each label that we import undergoes a thorough scrutiny; it has to meet our philosophies of craftsmanship, premium positioning, and aspirational storytelling.

We collaborate with brands such as GANT, True Religion, Antony Morato, and Elle, each of which has unique global aesthetics but communicates with India’s changing language of style.

Our team makes sure that every brand maintains its individuality while being localized for the Indian market by virtue of adapted store formats, local campaigns and consumer experiences.

Are there any upcoming collaborations or recent ones that excite you personally?

Apoorv Sen: The GANT X Shahid Kapoor collaboration has been a milestone, it perfectly captures the synergy between timeless European sophistication and Indian modernity.

We’re also exploring new collaborations that focus on limited edition capsules and experience led retail, blending art, design, and fashion.

What excites me the most is how these collaborations move beyond product, they’re about building cultural conversations around style, confidence and individuality.

Apoorv Sen’s vision reflects Iconic Fashion’s commitment to redefining contemporary style in India. Through innovation and strategic growth, he continues to strengthen the brand’s presence and create memorable shopping experiences, positioning Iconic Fashion as a leader in the country’s evolving fashion ecosystem.
