What was the inspiration behind turning an entrepreneur

Arham Jain: The entrepreneur bug bit him while he was still in college. Arham was the founder of the Enactus chapter of his college where the team went on to do projects that have been appreciated globally, even by Uniliever in the UK.

However his first stint was when he founded Apeejay Micro Financial Services, a non for profit organization that worked towards the financial inclusivity of the backward and marginalized segment of the society.

What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?

Arham Jain: Initially, I tried getting my hands dirty with all the aspects of the business which eventually slowed me down.

It is always better to take help from the ecosystem, from specialists in their domain, learn from people who have been there and done that and save yourself from wasted efforts.

Key things to consider before starting a startup

Arham Jain: You need to figure out if it’s something you really want to pursue as entrepreneurship is tough and a lonely journey.

You necessarily need not start your own company and can join as a founding team of an early stage startup to reap similar benefits.

You need to start out with the right intentions of creating an impact and providing value to the ecosystem.

What are some of the biggest mistakes you’ve made?

Arham Jain: Initially I tried and failed from my own mistakes. However, there are many entrepreneurs who have been in a similar position and it is always better to learn from them rather than getting your hands burnt and then learning from it.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Arham Jain: Once you have taken the plunge, do not wait for making mistakes and then learning from it. Learn through the mistakes and successes of other fellow entrepreneurs.

Your success tips for young and aspiring entrepreneurs

Arham Jain: Do not pursue entrepreneurship for the wrong reasons. Entrepreneurs should use content and technology as leverage as the ROI is immense. Build products that could solve a genuine problem for the masses.
