Bank employees unions have called a three-day bank strike again from March 11 to 13 in March over salary hike

After a two-day bank strike on 31 January and 1 February, bank employees’ unions have called for a three-day bank strike again from March 11 to 13 in March. If the bank strike is successful, many PSU bank branches and ATMs could be closed for five consecutive days of March. Work could be affected for five consecutive days including second Saturday and Sunday.

According to the All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI), the PSU Bank employees can go on a three-day strike again from March 11 to 13 in March on the demands of salary hike. Private banks like ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, HDFC Bank, and co-operative banks will, however, not be affected due to the strike.

These are the demands of bank employees

PSU banks Employees have their salary revision settlement at a 20% hike on the payslip and also salary revised once every five years after several rounds of negotiations between management representatives of banks and union leaders.

All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) are also against working on alternate Saturdays. The bank union also has demands including the scrapping of New Pension Scheme, the merger of special allowance with basic pay, improvement in family pension, etc.
