Indra Nooyi is a successful women entrepreneur in India and former chief executive officer (CEO) of PepsiCo.
She has ranked among the world’s 100 most powerful women. She was ranked at 13th number in the Forbes list of the World’s 100 most powerful women in 2014.
In 2015, she was ranked as the second most powerful woman on the Fortune list. At the same time, she was ranked the second most powerful woman on the Forbes list of 19 most powerful women in business. She served on Schlumberger, Amazon, and International Cricket Council.
Early Life & Education start to Career:
She was born on 28th October 1955 in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. She completed her schooling in Holy Angles Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in T. Nagar.
She took her bachelor’s degrees in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from Madras Christian College from the University of Madras in 1974.
In 1976, she completed her Post Graduate Programme Diploma from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
She earned a master’s degree in Public and Private Management in 1980 from Yale School of Management, USA.
A career as a women entrepreneur:
She began her career from Johnson & Johnson, and then textile firm Mettur Beardsell. With Yale School of Management, she completed her summer internship with Booz Allen Hamilton.
She joined the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in 1980 and then worked at Motorolla as Vice President and Director of Corporate Strategy and planning.

She joined PepsiCo in 1994 and became CEO in2006 by replacing Steven Reinemund. Indra Nooyi was the fifth chief executive officer (CEO) in PepsiCo’s 44- year history.
Nooyi led the company’s restructuring including the 1997 divestiture of Tricon. It is now known as Yum! Brand. They include companies like Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut.
She also took the lead in the acquisition of Tropicana in 1998 and merged with Quaker Oats Company.
She was named on Wall Street Journal’s list of women to watch in 2007 & 2008. In 2007 & 2008, she was listed among Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world.

Indra Nooyi reclassified PepsiCo’s products into three categories “better for you” (diet or low-fat version of snacks and sodas), “fun for you” (potato chips and regular soda), and “good for you” (items like oatmeal).
She moved corporate away junk food to healthier alternatives. In 2015, she removed aspartame from diet Pepsi. In August 2018, she stepped down PepsiCo as CEO; however, she continued to serve as chairperson until early 2019.
In PepsiCo, she served as CEO for 12 years. During her tenure, the company sales grew up to 80%. In April 2020, it was declared that Nooyi and Dr.
Albert Ko will represent Connecticut on the six-state working group planning for a careful easing of COVID-19.

Nooyi was named one of the best CEOs in the world by CEOWORLD magazine in 2018. FORBS MAGAZINE RANKED Nooyi “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” from 2008 through 2017.
Fortune named her most powerful women in business from 2006 to 2010. She was named one of America’s best leaders by U.S. News & World Report.
She was elected to the fellowship of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Indra Nooyi has been named CEO of the year (2009 ) by Global Supply Chain Leaders Group.
Bredan Wood International, an advisory agency, considered her one of “The TopGun CEOs”.
She was named one of the “25 Greatest Global Living Legends” by NDTV in 2013. she was awarded by the President of India Pranab Mukherji at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on 14th December 2013.
