The workshop, which took place in Kolkata at Hyatt Regency, was inaugurated by Sri Binod Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, who graced the event as the Chief Guest.
His presence underscored the state government’s firm commitment to enhancing employability through skill-based educational interventions.
A Collaborative Step Forward
The workshop brought together thought leaders, educators, and technologists from AWS, ICoE, and academic institutions to explore practical, collaborative pathways for equipping young learners with job-ready skills essential for the digital economy.
This event followed the MoU signed during the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) between AWS, Learning Spiral, and GoWB on February 6, underscoring the strategic nature of this ongoing partnership.

By joining hands with global tech leaders like AWS, the state took a meaningful step toward building a future-ready workforce, particularly in high-demand fields such as cloud technology and artificial intelligence.
More than 25 Higher Education institutions expressed strong intent and enthusiasm to adopt the new AWS-delivered courses, designed to make students job-ready.
These specially curated programs — tailored for West Bengal — will be integrated into existing curricula, taught by physical trainers, and offered at a very special price point, making them both accessible and impactful.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Mr. Manish Mohta, Founder of Learning Spiral, said:
“In today’s fast-evolving work environment, it is crucial to equip students with future-relevant skills. This workshop marked an important milestone in fostering a collaborative ecosystem where academia and industry work hand in hand to address the skill gap.”
