Vivek Banzal, BSNL Director (CFA) said in a statement that Broadband service is being introduced free of cost for one month with 5GB data to all citizens across the country, who do not have any broadband connection and have BSNL landline so that they can use this service either to educate from home, work from home or anything that can minimize the need to move outdoor.
On Friday, India’s Public sector telecom company BSNL announced one month free of charge broadband service for its landline and new customers.
Due to the coronavirus epidemic, various organizations and companies have asked their employees to work from home. The objective of this initiative is to support people to make it easier to work from home.
BSNL Director (CFA), Vivek Banzal said that All citizens of the country will be given free broadband service for one month. He also said that if new customers opt for an optical fiber connection, they will not have to pay even the charge of installing it.
However, they will have to take modems for service. BSNL customers can apply for the connection on the phone itself.
Vivek Banzal also said that this service will be available to those who have a BSNL landline and no broadband. Another BSNL official said that the scheme is also for new customers and after one month of usage they will have to pay for further service.
They can use it for working from home, education from home or any other work that needs to be done outside.
Vivek Banjal said that we have made the entire process paperless. Customers who opt for an optical fiber connection will not be charged for installing broadband. He also said that customers do not need to come to our Customer Service Center for broadband service.
