Tell us a little about yourself

Deepali Mathur: I am a textile designer by profession and further pursued graphics and communication design specialist from NIFT Delhi (India) and after a sufficient work experience I studied fashion styling and marketing from Istituto Marangoni.

My education has been this constant support that has inspired me to excavate my highest potential and carve my own path.

I am a learner who is exploring my skills every day and giving back to society in whatever way I can. My professional stints have fortunately been with reputed labels.

I carry immense gratitude for starting my career as a designer with Satya Paul and lending my expertise as a lead designer at an early age to a global brand Pashma amongst others.

About my family background, I have been close to my parents since the beginning. They have set high bars for me and I endeavor to justice to it with every flight I take in the industry.

My father is a Chartered Accountant and has been running his business of supplying motors for years. My mother is the boss back home, she was a model before her marriage.

She used to be a model before her marriage, however her passion towards hospitality and filling bellies alongside people’s hearts inspired her to open a café in the capital city.

My sister is with special needs and has been excelling in her dance course and has been awarded multiple times.

Please tell us a little about your entrepreneurial journey

Deepali Mathur: I started PR in 2011 while I was still consulting as a Head Designer with a luxury brand. From handling Design Development to managing branding and excelling in the space,

I was offered to consult the pioneers of the industry who lacked a creative approach and branding for a better visibility and ROI.

This led me to reconstruct and remodel the PR and marketing industry with a contemporary, creative and proactive approach.

Deepali Mathur: In a world where people are constantly striving to be seen and heard, it’s no surprise that the need for effective PR (Public Relations) and marketing is higher than ever.

However, traditional approaches to these industries often fall short, resulting in wasted time and money.

Recognizing this need for change, I founded “Elysian Hues” with the goal of providing a contemporary, proactive approach to PR and marketing.

How many employees at Elysian Hues?

What was the inspiration behind turning an entrepreneur

Deepali Mathur: In a world where people are constantly striving to be seen and heard, it’s no surprise that the need for effective PR (Public Relations) and marketing is higher than ever.

However, traditional approaches to these industries often fall short, resulting in wasted time and money. Recognising this need for change, I founded “Elysian Hues” with the goal of providing a contemporary, proactive approach to PR and marketing.

In just a short time, we’ve become one of the leading agencies in the industry, and I’m proud to say that we have maintained rather excelled in the marketing space successfully and ensuring our clients are satisfied.

What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?

Deepali Mathur: Discipline and time management are extremely crucial and I still haven’t mastered the same. Being an entrepreneur demands that you be working 24/7 especially when your venture is involved in upscaling India’s leading companies.

The challenges of being a women entrepreneur are similar to being in any high pressure job but it does come with its own set of advantages.

Strike a work life balance. Give time to your loved ones and ensure that the stress does not get to you. I think it’s imperative that we strive for a balance in our life. I have been blessed to have family and friends, who help me stay focused on my priorities.

Key things to consider before starting a Business

Deepali Mathur: I think the most important thing is to have a strong sustainable business by analysing the market. If possible, self-fund your business idea and then go for funding when you can create a growth story.

This might cause you to break up your product/service offering into smaller pieces so you can fund the early stages and get some traction and experience.

When running a business, know when you need to engage an accountant, lawyer, insurance agent, consultant, web page designer, PR and other professional. This will start your management process as a business.

What are some of the biggest mistakes you’ve made?

Deepali Mathur: I don’t tag anything as “mistakes” in specific. Maybe that’s why I feel I haven’t made any. Everything I have learnt has been experiential with a lot of hard work and emotional as well as financial investment and bore good results for me.

It has been worth it, so no, I don’t see any mistakes or blunders – just smart work, passion and a will to keep growing regardless of the horizons I touch.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Deepali Mathur: My advice would be to get at least 6 years of steady work experience, understand leadership skills, have strong communication skills and focus on branding the product by thinking out of the box.

I think the key to success in this market is having a strong understanding of what it takes for your product or brand. If you want people to take notice, then be creative with how you present yourself!

Your success tips for young and aspiring entrepreneurs

Deepali Mathur: The secret to success is self confidence, hardwork and self discipline that will help you focus better.
