Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to get operational in the next 3 yrs

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made a big announcement to build economic corridors and highways in the country. She also said that 9000 kilometers of economic corridors, 2500 kilometers of express highways, and 2000 kilometers of strategic highways will be built. Also, 6000 kilometers of highways will be built.

She added Rs 16,000 crore have been saved on owing to the highway passing through economically and socially backward tribal areas of five states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

The Minister for Road Transport & Highways and MSMEs, Nitin Gadkari said that you will be able to drive from national capital Delhi to India’s commercial capital Mumbai and cut the travel distance on the route by 280 km.

It will also reduce logistics costs. These works will be completed by 2023 which will cut travel time by 16 hours. Also, It will provide employment to tribal people.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said at a conference of Assocham that the land acquisition for the highway has been completed, I assure you that you will be able to drive to Mumbai from Delhi reach there within 12 hours in your car.
