What inspired you to specialize in hair transplantation and aesthetic medicine, given your diverse background in dermatology, anaesthesiology, and critical care?

Dr. Gajanan Jadhao: I’ve done my anaesthesiology and critical care, I used to deal with so many critical patients and even handling critical patients and try to save their lives or take it out them from critical condition to a good well-being that was also challenging.

But when I’ve seen patients of baldness with bad results of hair transplantation in the industry, i used to get sad.

Then i noticed there are lot of fake and fraud people running the hair transplantation clinics all over.  Poor results are because of not having proper qualification and experience in the field.

So that day I’ve decided that this is one of the very interesting  subject where I can train myself and deliver the best results in the industry . Whoever is feeling on low confidence because of not having hair, I can give them their confidence back.

So that day i felt this is the field where i will have more opportunities for me to scale my skills as well as to create one of the good names in the industry.

So that is the reason I shifted from anaesthesia and critical care to the dermatology or hair transplantation as such.

With over 26 years in medicine and more than a decade in hair transplantation, how has your approach to hair restoration evolved over the years?

Dr. Gajanan Jadhao: So over the decades, I’m practicing in hair transplantation. So initially, the big challenge was to have a quality people around you like the technicians, the doctors who can take care of your patients follow ups and all.

So, we have made SOPs for hair transplantation where I’ve created a protocol such a way that no hair transplantation should be failed.

So, like initially I was only doing hair transplantation, Later on, I developed a team who can deliver consistently good quality results for all of the patients across the India. So, this is what something we have changed over the period of time.

we are not only treating baldness by doing hair transplants but the  clinic who can treat all types of hair problems starting from alopecia areata to heavy hair loss like telogen effluvium.  

So, all these problems are dealt with precise treatment in La Densitae. So, this is what we have achieved over the period of time.

La Densitae is known for its high standards of patient care and satisfaction. How do you ensure a personalized and comfortable experience for each patient?

Dr. Gajanan Jadhao: So when you talk about high standards of patient care and satisfaction and how do you ensure the personalized and comfortable experience for this patient. So, this has not happened in one day.

This is a continuous process where we have built a team which can consistently perform good quality results as well as a comfortable and homely  environment,  where a patient feels like that every staff  is their family member.

The protocols are designed in such a way that the patient feels confident and comfortable during the procedure. He feels like he just came for a vacation over here. So that kind of comfort is there when doing a surgery because the pain factor is very minimal.

We provide breaks during procedure for lunch, water etc. So, this is how we approach the patient that never feels that he is going through surgical procedure.  He is so comfortable during this procedure that patients sing songs in procedure rooms.

So, lot many patient share their own experiences, like live experiences and their professional experiences while doing the surgery. So, this is the way how we performed surgery.

What are some of the most challenging cases you have handled, and how did you achieve successful outcomes?

Dr. Gajanan Jadhao: So there are a few cases like one of the case of alopecia areata where we perform surgery where which was contraindicated.

We can say like nobody suggests to do a hair transplantation in the case of alopecia areata but we did it with best possible safety guidelines available in the market.

We did lot of research and found few research papers where these kinds of cases were treated successfully.  

Next challenging cases are of celebrities who come with very high expectations with not having good donor area and we try to fulfil their wishes and the desired density as well as coverage so yeah dealing with the celebrities is one of the challenges because the expectations are really high and we have to deliver.

You have received several prestigious awards, including the International Fame Award and Asia Excellence Health Care Award. What do these recognitions mean to you and your clinic?

Dr. Gajanan Jadhao: So any kind of appreciations and awards are always keep you going for a future long run.

So yeah definitely appreciation is needed for whatever the work you are doing, whatever the things you are dedicating for the patient’s care and you are trying to achieve more and more better results for the patient’s satisfaction. So definitely awards helps you to keep going, keep motivating yourself as well.

What advice would you give to individuals considering hair transplant surgery for the first time?

Dr. Gajanan Jadhao: So my advice for the considering hair transfer surgery for the first time is you just need to understand whether you really require hair transplantation or not.

Can we have other treatments like medicines, GFC and other treatments where we can hold your hair for a few more years?

Considering a well-qualified doctor with good artistic mind sets and experience is very important. Not to danger your life with someone who is very new to the field or who doesn’t have any qualification in the hair transplantation field.  

Second thing is setup of the clinic has to be very good because if something goes wrong then the clinic should be able to handle that emergency conditions so that is very important. 

Lastly important is the reputations of the brand where you are planning to do surgery is the brand well known and well reputed and take case of the patients follow up as well, so these are the things you should consider before you plan for any hair transplant surgery.

What message would you like to share with aspiring medical professionals interested in entering the field of hair restoration?

Dr. Gajanan Jadhao: See, for the doctors who want to enter into the field of hair restoration, I would like to tell them that hair transplantation is a superficial procedure or minor procedure, but it is a procedure which requires a lot of patience, a lot of dedication and a lot of experience.

So, it’s not like that you will be trained yourself in 7 days of or 14 days of any course what you attend. There are so many courses running in the market which provides you the certification courses and certificates for doing hair transplantation.

But these are not the worth you attending the courses because at least to become a good hair transplantation surgeon, you need to have 2 years of experience in the field of hair transplantation.

So, seeing or doing few cases will not definitely help to achieve the experience as well as the expertise in the field of hair transplantation.

So, try to dedicate your 2 years for the field of hair transplantation at least and then and then you will be able to generate good quality results in the market.
