Can you share with us how you discovered your passion for mentalism and what inspired you to pursue it as a career?

Dr Kruti Parekh: Certainly! My journey into the world of mentalism began at a young age when I discovered my fascination with human psychology and the mysteries of the mind.

I was always intrigued by how our thoughts, emotions, and perceptions shape our reality. As I delved deeper into the subject, I realized that mentalism offered a unique avenue to explore these mysteries and captivate audiences with the power of the mind.

The turning point came when started researching on the mind through the bhagwad geeta , Upanishads and vedas as well as the psychology of magic.

I was spellbound by the seamless blend of psychology, intuition, and showmanship which was being created.

The ability to seemingly read minds, predict outcomes, and create a sense of wonder in the audience left a profound impact on me. It was an unforgettable experience that ignited a spark within me and inspired me to pursue mentalism as a career.

What truly resonated with me was the potential of mentalism to create meaningful connections with people.

It went beyond mere entertainment; it had the ability to touch hearts, spark conversations, and challenge perceptions. I wanted to harness this power and use it as a medium to inspire, uplift, and provoke thought.

Dr Kruti Parekh: People who are a little more serious and who want to learn magic and mentalism to be able to pick it up as a side job for some extra money, especially with the college going students as well as the young teenagers who are still studying and who want to make it do something before their final work or people who are in the military, may learn it as an art form and want to experiment with different formats as they learn as a kid, to a teenager wanting to learn to impress people around them, to people who are  

Certainly, there are corporate training programmes that are designed for a particular goal, whether it be sales, networking, marketing, training, or any other objective they wish to study for.

It also involves learning other communication skills, interpersonal skills, how to speak to people, how to communicate effectively, how to build your personality, how to improve your overall development, how to improve your digital dexterity, and so on.

In this way, learning all the training kind of aids in your overall development rather than just being one art form or one of the things that you’re learning.

Dr Kruti Parekh: As Asia’s first and foremost female mentalist, I have encountered numerous challenges within a male-dominated industry.

Breaking through the barriers and establishing my presence required determination, resilience, and a strong belief in my abilities.

One of the major challenges I faced was the preconceived notion that mentalism was primarily a male domain.

Many believed that women lacked the necessary charisma and presence to captivate audiences in this art form. Breaking this stereotype was not easy, but I refused to let it define me or limit my potential.

Another obstacle was the lack of opportunities and representation for female mentalists. As one of the few women in the field, it was challenging to find mentors or role models who could guide me on my journey.

I had to carve my own path, drawing inspiration from other accomplished female performers in different artistic disciplines.

Overcoming these challenges required both internal and external strategies. Internally, I focused on building my confidence and self-belief.

I immersed myself in continuous learning, honoring my skills, and perfecting my craft. I embraced my unique perspective as a woman, leveraging it to create performances that were distinctive and memorable.

Externally, I actively sought opportunities to showcase my talent and prove that gender should not determine one’s abilities. I persistently pursued performance slots, collaborated with fellow artists, and reached out to event organizers to demonstrate the value I could bring to their events.

By consistently delivering high-quality performances, I gradually gained recognition and began to challenge the existing narrative.

Building a supportive network was also crucial. I sought out like-minded individuals, both male and female, who believed in my vision and provided invaluable guidance and encouragement. Surrounding myself with individuals who appreciated my talent helped me stay motivated and navigate the industry’s challenges.

Furthermore, I utilized social media and online platforms to amplify my presence and connect with a wider audience.

Through these channels, I shared my performances, insights, and experiences, breaking down geographical boundaries and reaching individuals who may not have otherwise encountered a female mentalist.

In my journey as a premier female mentalist from India, I have come to realize that persistence, passion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence are essential.
