EESL, BHEL to set up a network of public charging stations for electric vehicles

EESL to set up charging stations for electric vehicles; hands with Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL)

Energy Efficiency Services Limited – EESL said that it has tied up with Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) to set up a network of the public charging stations for electric vehicles on various highways across the country.

Under the national e-vehicle program, both BHEL and EESL will explore opportunities to rapidly promote electric vehicles in India. As part of the agreement, EESL will make all initial investments related to operations, services, and maintenance while BHEL will offer procurement, engineering, and construction (EPC) solutions.

State-owned firms and Public sector company EESL said on Thursday that it has tied up with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) to set up public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles on various highways across the country.

Saurabh Kumar, EESL Managing Director said that Infrastructure is the main need for the rapid promotion of electric vehicles in the country. India is increasingly adopting electric vehicles keeping in mind sustainable development.
