Ekta Kapoor gives up one year’s salary of ₹2.5 cr to make sure her Balaji employees don’t suffer during the lockdown.
On Friday, Ekta Kapoor, the joint managing director and creative head of ‘Balaji Telefilms Limited’ and a film producer and director announced that she’ll forsake her one year’s salary of ₹2.5 crore at Balaji Telefilms to save Balaji employees from taking pay cuts amid lockdown due to COVID -19 coronavirus pandemic.
Ekta Kapoor also said that It’s my first & foremost responsibility to take care of various daily wage workers, production people, and freelancers who are going to suffer immense losses due to no shootings and uncertainty over the indefinite period to follow.
We all need to do things that will ease the hardship of people like production people, freelancers, and daily wage workers, and people around us and of our country at large.
Amidst the global coronavirus epidemic affecting all walks of life including the Indian entertainment industry, many Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan have come forth to help the daily wage workers who are the most affected during this scenario.
Ekta further said that I would thus forsake my 1 years salary at Balaji Telefilms so that my team of production people and daily wage workers don’t have to take a hit during this current scenario and period of crisis.
