Be Unstoppable: Inspiring Webinar by Karen Cruise
National Service Scheme & Rotaract Club in association with School of Education, Apeejay Stya University organized an International Wellness Webinar “Be Unstoppable” with Distinguished Guest Speaker, Karen Cruise – Young People’s Life Coach
Karen is a founder of Flourished Minds Ltd and Young People’s Life Coach in UK. On April 13, 2021 she interacted virtually with the students of Apeejay Stya University and several international participants through a webinar–Be Unstoppable.
At a time when the world is surrounded with negativity and the COVID-19 pandemic has further increased the focus on mental wellbeing, self-motivation in life is the only source that can make humans sail through this difficult time.
To give insights of an inspirational life journey and making people understand about goals, achievements and powers, UK based Karen Cruise—Founder of award winning social enterprise Flourished Minds Ltd and Young People’s Life Coach interacted with the students of Apeejay Stya University and several international participants.
Sharing her story, Karen said, “From a very young age, I told myself that I am unworthy. I was lacking intelligence and had no confidence. But then I started believing in myself.
I visualized my importance and had a strong belief that I can do it. Now, the time has come when I am a qualified life coach, have my own business, a degree to flaunt and success in the corporate world.”
From nowhere to living her life in poverty, Karen has reached a place where she travels to many countries, being a school governor, delivering lectures at top universities. “At the age of 52, I am a mum, a wife and I am proud of who I have become!” she said.
Despite these successes, my life has been tinged with intense challenges. I lost my mother who was my role model. She died from Alzhiemer’s. My husband was diagnosed with brain tumour. Yet still, I rise, she said.
“Tomorrow is not promised as life is unpredictable. Every day I wake up at 5 am and I have a time-table ready. I was encouraged to keep going,” Karen told the participants.
“One should always believe that we are sent to earth for a purpose. We need to find it and be unstoppable.
Follow your dreams and you will succeed. Failures will come on the way to give your experiences, lessons and help you grow. Don’t stop,” Karen said while giving a life mantra to the participants.
She congratulated Dr. Vijay Kumar, Programme Coordinator of NSS and Rotaract Club of Apeejay Stya University and a faculty in School of Education for organising this wonderful session for the students.
Giving tips to the students, she asked them to keep a watch on the influencers in their lives.
“Be careful about the people you are spending most of your time with. You need to judge, whether they drain or empower you,” she said.
“Self-talk and self-belief is a must. There is already enough hatred in the world. Don’t be a hater of yourself. Become a cheerleader of yourself.
Fear holds you back and overthinking multiplies it. Be calm always and remind yourself that every breath you take is a gift. Be passionate about everything, she said.
Answering Dr. Ananda Padhan, Head, School of Education on spirituality, Karen said, “we don’t teach spirituality, but everyone should have their own belief.”
