PhonePe launches donation drive aims to contribute Rs 100 crore to PM Fund towards fighting coronavirus crisis.

Bengaluru-based Flipkart-owned PhonePe said that the company will contribute Rs 10 for every user aims to contribute to PM CARES Fund who donates to the PM CARES Fund via the PhonePe app using UPI by April 30, 2020.

After Paytm, PhonePe has launched a donation drive and said it aims to contribute towards fighting coronavirus crisis via Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund – PM CARES Fund.

An Indian e-commerce payment system and digital wallet company, PhonePe has pledged to contribute a maximum of up to Rs 100 crore.

On Saturday, the digital payments company Paytm had said it aims to contribute Rs 500 crore to PM CARES, any payment made on Paytm using the UPI, wallet, and Paytm Bank debit card, the company will contribute up to Rs 10 for every contribution.

Founder and CEO of PhonePe, Sameer Nigam, said “donate and unite together, even if it’s just Re 1, to the PM CARES Fund in this period of crisis.

Sameer Nigam also said that our mission is to create a world record for the highest ever number of donors for a cause in history. Donate in this cause and create a world record.

How to make donation on Phonepe

To make a donation and contribute to PM Fund, users can visit the PhonePe app and follow simple steps – The minimum amount of contribution in PM Fund is just Re 1 and eligible for 100% tax exemption under 80G.

  • Open the PhonePe app
  • Click to Donate” banner
  • Follow the instructions
  • Make the donation.

All donations will be directly transferred from the donor’s bank account to the PM CARES Fund’s bank account. User can made donation only through the UPI payment method
