Flipkart ties up and signs MoU with the Government of West Bengal to train and support local artisans
Kolkata: April 26, 2022: MoUs have been signed under Flipkart’s SAMARTH initiative to support low-service communities, local artisans, handicraft makers, and weavers to gain under-India market-access through Flipkart Marketplace.

Under this partnership, Samarth Program will provide time-bound incubation support and training benefits to service communities.
Flipkart, India’s Indigenous e-commerce marketplace has announced the signing of a MoU with the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles (MSME & T) of the Government of West Bengal to take advantage of e-commerce to train and assist local artisans, weavers and handicraft manufacturers.
The Flipkart-enabled program will empower artisans, handicraft makers, and weavers in the state with the ecosystem support needed for the development and benefit of ecommerce platform access.
Under this partnership, Samarth Program will provide time-bound incubation support and training benefits to service communities.
Agreements were signed with the state’s micro, small and medium enterprises and the textile department.
Flipkart announced on Monday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the West Bengal government to train and support local artisans, weavers and handicraft manufacturers to take advantage of its e-commerce platform to grow their businesses nationally.
Rajesh Pandey, Principal Secretary, MSMEs, West Bengal, said, “We are focused on deepening our commitment to MSMEs in the state and helping in their development.
This partnership will enhance the growth of artisans, weavers, small businesses and MSMEs and provide opportunities to enable e-commerce. ”
Rajesh Pandey also said that these efforts would be instrumental in promoting inclusive growth and promoting social and commercial development in the state.
