Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman: Govt willing to do more beyond Budget to boost growth

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has indicated that the government may announce more relief packages to accelerate the economy. Finance Minister Sitharaman said that if necessary, the government can go further than the budget proposals. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has indicated this in a meeting with economic experts.

The meeting was attended by experts associated with wealth advisory, asset management, and tax consultancy. Addressing the experts, the Finance Minister said that if there is a need to take any step beyond the budget 2020, the government is also ready for this. The Finance Ministry has held similar meetings in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata last week.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman also said that the budget 2020 has a positive impact on the bond, equity, and currency markets. During the discussion, economic experts have given many suggestions including increasing the liquidity and increasing consumption in the system.

The Finance Minister further said that the government will soon disclose full details of the trust scheme. In addition, also said that the government would consider all the advice given by economic experts. To get the economy back on track, the government is consulting all sector experts.
