Garima Patwal: My journey of bhitoi is deeply rooted in my childhood in Uttarakhand, where the region’s natural beauty and rich traditions shaped my inspiration.
One of the most profound influences was the practice of “bhitoi,” where parents would undertake arduous journeys to visit their daughters, bringing tokens of love and connection. During this wait, the surrounding landscapes would become the daughter’s witness, as she eagerly anticipated her parents’ arrival.
This act of devotion left a lasting impression on me. As I grew, I developed a strong desire to share the spirit of Uttarakhand—its vibrant culture, landscapes, and heritage with the world. While studying in Milan(Italy), I realized that creating Bhitoi would allow me to fulfill this dream.
Much like the arduous journeys of parents in Uttarakhand, my path was challenging as well, but it led to the birth of a brand that reflects the warmth, love, and traditions of my homeland. Through Bhitoi, I aim to share the essence of Uttarakhand with the world.

Garima Patwal: Our design process is deeply inspired by the beauty and traditions of Uttarakhand. From the majestic landscapes to the region’s vibrant festivals, every detail influences our designs—reflecting its colors, textures, and timeless patterns.
We work closely with artisans who help us create stories through their intricate hand embroidery and traditional hand-knitting techniques passed down through generations.
Our collections feature these unique embroideries, often inspired by nature, the region’s traditional elements and local artforms, bringing the spirit of Uttarakhand to life in each piece.
