Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal to organise buyer-seller meets in all UP districts
June 12, 2023: In a bid to boost local trade and encourage entrepreneurship, the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal has announced plans to organize buyer-seller meets across all districts of Uttar Pradesh.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between buyers and sellers by providing them with a platform to interact, negotiate, and establish business relationships.
GeM, which was launched by the Government of India, has gained significant popularity since its inception as an online marketplace for government departments and organizations to procure goods and services.
With the implementation of this new initiative, GeM aims to extend its reach and impact by facilitating face-to-face interactions between buyers and sellers in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
The buyer-seller meets will serve as an opportunity for local vendors, manufacturers, and service providers to showcase their offerings to potential buyers from various government departments and organizations.
This event will not only encourage small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to participate actively in government procurement but also promote the growth of the local economy.
By organizing these meets in every district of Uttar Pradesh, GeM aims to ensure equal participation and representation from all regions, including rural and semi-urban areas.
This initiative aligns with the government’s vision of promoting the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ campaigns, as well as empowering local businesses to thrive and contribute to the overall development of the state.
The buyer-seller meets will feature exhibition stalls, presentations, and interactive sessions, allowing vendors to showcase their products and services, discuss pricing, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term business relationships.
GeM officials will also provide guidance and assistance to both buyers and sellers to navigate the online platform effectively.
The dates and locations for the buyer-seller meets in each district of Uttar Pradesh will be announced by GeM shortly.
Interested vendors and buyers are encouraged to register and participate actively in these events to explore new business opportunities and foster economic growth.
With the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal’s efforts to bring together buyers and sellers in Uttar Pradesh through these buyer-seller meets, the state is set to witness a surge in local trade, foster entrepreneurship, and drive socio-economic development in the region.
