Global Investors Meet 2022: Karnataka To Get Rs. 8 Lakh Crore Investment
November 4, 2022: Karnataka Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani said The investment commitments at the end of the day’s program are expected to exceed the government’s expectations.
Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries Murugesh Nirani said that during Karnataka’s investment at the Global Investors Meet (GIM), the state received around Rs. 8 lakh crore investment proposals were received.
Investment commitments are expected to exceed government expectations at the end of the day event, he added.
Happy with the overwhelming response GIM received on the inaugural day, Nirani said the event was a grand success.
“We are delighted that GIM has attracted 100 per cent attendance and overwhelming response from all stakeholders.
So far we have received around Rs. 8 lakh crore investment has been received and we expect way more by November 4.
Furthermore, These investments are expected to create more than 5 lakh jobs in the state. The Chief Minister will announce the exact amount of investment on the final day.
We will release a full brochure with full details of investments including the names of companies, locations and how many jobs are going to be created,” he added.
He also expressed his gratitude to PM Narendra Modi, who praised the state government for having GIM and promoting industrial development in the country.
“I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support and words of encouragement for our endeavours.
Our government is working hard to realize their dream of making India a 5 trillion dollar economy by 2025 and our contribution will be 1 trillion dollars,” Nirani added.
Furthermore, The minister also emphasized the need to improve connectivity for economic progress. He said that the airports in Hassan, Shivamoga and Vijayapura will be functional soon. Lastly, The minister said that the next GIM will be held in January 2025.
