Google’s New Search Option for Docs, Slides, and Sheets

April 28, 2023: Google has announced a new ‘Search Option’ feature that will make it easier for users to find tools and recent activities in Docs, Slides, and Sheets.

With this new feature, users will be able to quickly access the tools they need and view their most recent actions, making their workflow more efficient.

The ‘Search Option’ feature is designed to simplify the search process for users. It will allow them to search for specific tools within Docs, Slides, and Sheets, such as the ‘comment’ tool, the ‘insert image’ tool, or the ‘table’ tool.

This means that users will no longer have to navigate through menus and sub-menus to find the tools they need.

Instead, they can simply type in what they are looking for and the search function will show them the relevant tool.

In addition to searching for tools, users will also be able to view their most recent activities within Docs, Slides, and Sheets.

This will include things like recently opened documents, recently edited documents, and recently shared documents.

By having this information readily available, users can quickly pick up where they left off and keep track of their progress.

The ‘Search Option’ feature will be available to all Google Workspace users, including those with personal accounts, starting in May 2023. It will be accessible from the search bar at the top of the Docs, Slides, and Sheets apps.
