With eSahayak, you can create your government and legal documents right from your phone by just filling out a simple form
This is the interview of young entrepreneur duos Gourav Manchanda & Charanjit Singh, Co-founder of eSahayak.
At Sugermint Media, our aim is to bring to our young entrepreneurs community some of the inspiring and motivational stories from the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
As part of this endeavour, we invited yet another passionate entrepreneurs Gourav Manchanda & Charanjit Singh: Co-founder of eSahayak for an exclusive interview with us.
How did you get your idea or concept for eSahayak?
It all started when Gourav and Charanjit were pursuing their engineering from UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
They were running a coding club in their college and were always working on building software for fun and conducting workshops to teach our college students.
Gourav was a senior to Charanjit in college and in the final year of college decided to not go for a job and instead start his own company to build software for other people and Charanjit after his graduation followed suit and joined hands with Gourav.
While Gourav and Charanjit were working together in the newly formed company, they met Mr. GPS Waraich in 2019 who is an Entrepreneur working in Indian Real Estate and loves technology.
GPS inspired Gourav & Charanjit with big and interesting problems of Indian Real Estate which were not being solved by any company.
We (Gourav & Charanjit) got interested in the problems discussed by GPS and decided to take on the problems of Indian Real Estate Head On, thus pivoting from providing software development services to building a product that solves ground-level problems of the Indian Real Estate Market.
This is the year 2019 and we are building a suite of applications for brokers, customers, and builders in Indian Real Estate.
6 months down the line, we realized that it will take us many years to build the suite of products with our team of two people and zero external funding, thus we went back to the drawing board and identified one module which we should build and launch to start earning money and that’s how the idea for eSahayak was born.
We decided to solve the problems of documentation in the Indian Real Estate market and while building and researching for the product we saw documents are there in every industry. Thus eSahayak!
What service(s) or product(s) do you offer at eSahayak?
In the era of digitalization, when everything is virtual, why should one wait in long queues for governmental and legal paperwork?
Government and legal documents are a complex process, having lots of third-party involvement and eventually creates a hectic environment.
It also takes a lot of paperwork and generally the government portals and websites don’t work on smartphones.
eSahayak brings all the paperwork under one niche and provides a platform for all kinds of legal paperwork.
It also is working towards bringing each and every state in India online and thus providing an easy way out for the people to create their own forms and use them as per their requirements.
The platform has collaborated with CA, CS Firms, and Lawyers for online documentation processes and is planning to connect with some offline agents as well who can break down the documentation process to the general public in offline mode too.
What is unique about eSahayak?
There are a lot of random websites with very generic names like birthcertificateonline.com, onlinemarriageregistration.com, and many more which take details of users through a web form and handle all the processes manually without giving any real-time status update to their users.
On the other hand, eSahayak provides all the services of Government & Legal Documentation in India where paperwork is handled by the technology of Crove.app (Our product to automate repetitive documents) and updates are given to the users via automated emails.
What was your mission at the outset?
In the future, we intend to complete the software, make it robust and market it to get adequate to compete with the competitors and be profitable in terms of balance sheet.
We believe that a healthy balance sheet is the strongest indicator than evaluation on other parameters alone.
We want to expand our team to take on numerous other solutions we have identified to solve the problems of Indian Real Estate.
All states in the country are not yet fully digitized and that the startup aims to become a one-stop platform in India by bringing all kinds of paperwork from all states under one platform.
How many employees are in your organization?
15 people
What are your company’s goals?
We are aiming to make all the government and legal paperwork in India digital in the next six months.
We are trying to enable every Indian with a smartphone in hand to be able to flawlessly get any government and legal documentation service for their personal and business needs without any hassle.
Going forward, we want to tap the offline agents’ market as well. It is in talks with onboard documentation agencies across India and plans to onboard around 15,000 to 20,000 agents to assist people with offline paperwork.
How do you build a successful customer base?
Currently, we are in the process of launching and our platform eSahayak has respectable traffic. Our revenue model is subscription as well and per document depending on the customer profile.
Does your company help the community or society?
The Coronavirus pandemic has made everything go virtual – from consulting doctors to education and ordering groceries. However, government-related paperwork is still scattered and not completely digitized.
We aim to enable users to generate or process all their government and legal documents right from their phone by just filling out a simple form.
India has a population of 1.4 billion and you need a government document from the moment you are born to taking admission in school, to rent a house, to own a property, to set up a company, to file for divorce, and the list goes on. And we want to create a platform for all kinds of legal paperwork.
