Harsh Binani – Smartworks Co-Founder
Harsh Binani is an Indian entrepreneur and co-founder of Smartworks, India’s largest Managed space provider. Harsh Binani started small but always believed in achieving big.
Harsh is an alumnus of Northwestern University -Kellogg School of Management, Illinois with an MBA degree in entrepreneurial studies, and an Economics graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
Healso holds a CFP (Centre for Financial Planning) designation in risk management, investment, and retirement planning.
Harsh Binani started off his career with the opportunities presented to him to gain experience for his bigger plans. With over 7 years of experience in real estate and management consulting, he has previously worked with “Mckinsey”, the world’s premier consulting firm in Chicago.
During his 5 years with Mckinsey, he focused on strategy and operational topics across insurance, infrastructure, and healthcare.
He has also served as a Chief of Staff at Medanta Medicity, spearheading key strategic initiatives for the CEO.
Harsh Binani got exposure to state-of-the-art workspaces during his tenure overseas, which made it clear to him about his future plans.
He decided to join Neetish Sarda who himself was brewing with passion with his new venture at the time, Smartworks.
Harsh Binani joined Smartworks in 2017, bringing in more passion, ideas, and impeccable people skill to the table.
After the joining of Harsh Binani alongside Neetish Sarda, Smartworks saw exponential growth which paved the way towards more creative approaches to make the workspaces a more delightful experience.
Initially Smartworks started as a co working space, but Harsh Binani and Neetish Sarda soon realised that to be an overcrowded market, which little to no innovation in terms of offerings and technology or the target audience.
After narrowing down to the clientele, they wanted to serve Harsh Binani decided to crack into the big enterprises which was a challenge in itself.
Big enterprises were already settled in the traditional workspaces with a set pattern and limited offerings.
With initial setbacks and feedback, Harsh Binani returned time and time again to the drawing board creating a new plan on what can be the key to change the mind of the big enterprises.
After much research, changed approaches and pitching ideas, it happened! Smartworks landed their first client and from then it has always been a high road.
Smartworks saw an exponential growth in the 5 years of this journey with impeccable support from the whole team.
Harsh Binani believes that it is important to make sure that you believe in the idea that you are pitching first before making any other client believe in it.
As the journey of Harsh Binani clearly points out that settling in towards what everyone is doing will only take you to where everyone is going.

Today, Smartworks is India’s largest provider of flexible workspaces, with a footprint of approx. 5 million sq. ft. across over 32 locations in 9 cities across Delhi-NCR, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune) and caters to more than 400 organisations across Fortune 500 companies.
The large pool of clients, new centers, and the footmark in all the prime cities is the testimony of the determination and arduous work put in by Harsh Binani and Neetish Sarda in their dream.
