Harshita Nair: -High expectations while working with limited resources, so event managers need to prioritize spending, negotiate with vendors, and find ways to provide value without overspending.

-Last-minute changes, such as equipment malfunctions, weather disruptions (for outdoor events), or unexpected guest behavior, can throw off plans.

-Events often cater to diverse groups of people with different needs, preferences, and expectations. Providing a cohesive and inclusive experience for all attendees can be challenging, especially with large-scale events.

-Understanding and managing client expectations can be difficult, especially if their vision doesn’t align with their budget or logistics. Event planners must work to balance client dreams with practical solutions.

My first piece of advice would be to develop a strong foundation in the basics of project management.

Whether you’re organizing a small event or a large-scale international production, the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and teams is crucial to success.

In addition, it’s essential to stay adaptable. The event industry is fast-paced, and things often change unexpectedly, so flexibility and a calm, problem-solving mindset are key.

Networking and building strong relationships with vendors, clients, and other industry professionals is also important, as event management is a collaborative process.

Lastly, stay curious, keep learning, and be willing to push the boundaries of what’s possible in event creation.
