As technology advanced and digital access expanded, consumer preferences shifted profoundly; this dynamic evolution ignited the concept for Luxury Cart.

For India’s upper-middle class, the prospect of acquiring an affordable yet sophisticated premium vehicle presented a compelling proposition, and Luxury Cart was specifically established to meet this desire.

We focus on offering a seamless experience to our customers by providing them with verified listings and expert inspections, easy financing, and doorstep delivery. Every touchpoint is built to ensure trust, convenience, and a high standard of service.

What challenges did you face when launching Luxury Cart, and how did you overcome them?

Himanshu Arya: There are always a number of challenges one faces while launching something new. However, the biggest challenge was to break a consumer’s hesitation that came from the stigma around pre-owned vehicles.

We overcame this by investing in infrastructure, third -party certifications, and a robust after-sales network. The idea was not just selling cars, it was building credibility and faith.

Himanshu Arya: The market for luxury pre-owned vehicles is currently poised for substantial expansion. Following the pandemic, a noticeable surge in consumer aspirations, coupled with a sharper financial awareness, has propelled used luxury cars firmly into the mainstream.

Since 2024, this segment has experienced quite a surge in sales. To put it in perspective, around 80,000 used luxury vehicles changed hands, contrasting with just 50,000 brand new ones – that’s roughly 1.6 pre-owned cars for every new one sold.

The industry’s growth is fuelled by its diverse array of channels, encompassing everything from manufacturer-certified schemes to independent dealerships and the flourishing realm of online marketplaces.

As digitisation continues to advance and financing options become increasingly flexible, it’s genuinely plausible this market could see its volume double in the coming years.

Can you share any exciting plans or upcoming features for Luxury Cart that customers can look forward to?

Himanshu Arya: We’re building into increasing our inventory offering and have already established an omnichannel presence, our tech is further building on developing AI-powered tools for car recommendations and valuations.

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to enter the automotive or e-commerce sectors?

Himanshu Arya: Focus on solving real problems, and don’t just chase trends. Build trust before building scale. In automotive, service and credibility matter more than speed. Stay grounded, invest in people, and let your product speak before your marketing does.
