Increase In DA Up To 15% For Central Government Employees Drawing Pay As Per Pre-revised 5th, 6th Pay Commission
October 16, 2022: The government has increased DA for these employees of central government and central autonomous bodies to 212 per cent of basic from the existing 203 per cent as per the pre-revised pay scale or grade pay of the 6th Central Pay Commission.
The revised rate of Dearness Allowance payment will come into effect from July 1, 2022. Ahead of Diwali, the Finance Ministry has revised Dearness Allowance (DA) by up to 15 per cent for employees of Central Government and Central Autonomous Bodies who continue to draw salaries as per the 5th and 6th Central Pay Commission.
This has been announced by the Department of Expenditure (DoE) of the Ministry of Finance through an official memorandum dated October 12, 2022.
How much DA has been increased for these employees?
The government has increased DA for these employees of central government and central autonomous bodies to 212 per cent of basic from the existing 203 per cent as per the pre-revised pay scale or grade pay of the 6th Central Pay Commission. The revised rate of Dearness Allowance payment will come into effect from July 1, 2022.
DA for Central Government employees and employees of Central Autonomous Organisations, who draw their pay as per the pre-revised pay scale or grade pay of the 5th Central Pay Commission, will be increased to 396 per cent from the existing 381 per cent. The new rate of Dearness Allowance will be applicable from July 1, 2022.
As per 6th pay commission how much salary will increase after recent DA increase?
The increase in DA is calculated on the basic pay of the government employee. For example, suppose the basic salary of a central government employee is Rs 43,000 per month.
He is drawing salary as per 6th Pay Commission. As per an office memorandum by DoE dated October 12, 2022, DA will increase to 212 percent from the existing 203 percent.
Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief (DR) for Central Government employees and pensioners drawing salary as per 7th Central Pay Commission has been increased from 34 percent to 38 percent on September 28, 2022. The revised rates will be effective from July 1, 2022. .
However, the employees and pensioners who are drawing salary or pension as per 6th Pay Commission or 5th Pay Commission, were waiting for correction of their DA or DR from Govt.
