Can you share the inspiration behind founding Nirvana Being and how the company evolved to become a leading provider of sustainable air purification solutions?

Jai Dhar Gupta: I would love to tell you an inspired tale how NB evolved, but really, NB kind of just happened as a response to me being diagnosed with Bronchial Asthma in late 2013.  As I sought out solutions to protect myself and improve my quality of life, I realised that were more like me that needed clean air solutions as a preventative and/or a cure. 

It started with Reusable N95 masks that combined fashion and function.  The air purifiers and air quality monitors were next as the monitors with the laser particle counters allowed people to ‘see the invisible.’ 

The central HVAC air filtration solutions were next, and filtered ventilation, and so on and so forth.  We are constantly learning and our solutions have evolved with our knowledge over the subject matter.  Science and sustainability have always been the guiding light as we grow from strength to strength.

As the Founder of Nirvana Being, what motivated you to focus specifically on air purification solutions, and how do you see the role of your company in addressing contemporary environmental challenges?

Jai Dhar Gupta: Rapid unplanned urbanisation and growing incomes will increase carbon footprints for the foreseeable future.  And hence we see a growing opportunity for the foreseeable future with increased awareness levels and the increase in morbidity that comes with poor/hazardous AQI. 

For the past decade we have advocated for macro change and engaged with Government, both Centre and State, to be a part of the larger solution.  However, changes in our ambient air will take a decades and hence we will that the clean air solutions from Nirvana Being will be relevant for the foreseeable future. 

We played a huge role during COVID as well with the launch of our Airific 2.0 masks built with R-PET fabric(Waste2Wear) with a nanofiber filter inside, that filters to a nanoparticle size of 0.1 micron.  Pathbreaking stuff really!!

Nirvana Being emphasizes sustainable solutions. Could you elaborate on the sustainable practices integrated into your air purification products and how they contribute to a greener and healthier environment?

Jai Dhar Gupta: All of our masks are reusale and washable, built with R-PET fabric.  Almost all of our air purification solutions use Micro Electro Static precipitation which is a certified green and sustainable technology. 

There’s absolutely no filter changes as the filter is washable and the energy footprint is 60% lower than using a HEPA filter, with far better results.  Also, all of our filters are completely recyclable beyond their design life of 10 years.  So, clearly we walk the talk!

With increasing concerns about air quality worldwide, how does Nirvana Being stay ahead in terms of innovation to provide cutting-edge solutions for customers?

Jai Dhar Gupta: While there is concern Worldwide, India tops the Global charts in terms of the worst air quality in the World.  The National Clean Air Programme has identified 132 non-attainment cities and I’m certain that more will get added each day.  We are constantly innovating on design as well as to make our products better and cheaper, so a wider audience can access our clean air tech. 

For the first 5 years, we borrowed and mimicked our peers in China, USA, UK and other markets, today, I can say that we are a generation ahead and have a complete portfolio of solutions to protect our patrons both indoor and outdoor, with the lowest carbon/energy footprint.

Environmental consciousness is a significant aspect of Nirvana Being’s mission. How do you envision the future of sustainable technology in the air purification sector, and what role does Nirvana Being play in shaping that future?

Jai Dhar Gupta: We firmly believe that the future of air purification is tied to Nanotech and am proud to mention that Nirvana Being was the first player in 2020 to take that leap.  Nanotech not only offers the highest filtration efficiencies at a nanoparticle size of 0.1 micron, but it also offers the least resistance leading to energy efficiencies.  Again, with science and sustainability as a guiding path, we will continue to stay ahead of the pack Globally.

Collaboration and partnerships can be crucial for success. Are there any strategic alliances or partnerships that Nirvana Being has formed to enhance its impact or develop new products?

Jai Dhar Gupta: We do have some license deals for tech from Global players, however, this is not public information at this time.

What are the upcoming projects or initiatives that Nirvana Being is excited about, and how do you see the company contributing to the future of sustainable living and air quality improvement?

Jai Dhar Gupta: We are preparing for the launch of our Ventimax 2.0 which will create Switzerland quality air in indoor spaces and solve all problems of PM2.5, CO2, SOX, NOX and VOCs, with the lowest energy footprint and at a highly affordable price. 

It’s India’s first filtered ventilation solution with smart on-demand technology.  Think of it as a new age window that only allows filtered oxygen rich fresh air into your home/office delivering the highest standards of health and safety.
