Students were in awe of the youth sensation Babil Khan as the ‘Qala’ star wholeheartedly interacted with them
Mumbai, February 2023: Mass media is a popular field of study for youngsters with creative minds inclined towards performing arts.
At Jai Hind College’s Department of Mass Media, the primary objective is to turn their interests into successful careers by curating every possible opportunity for students to hone their skills.
One such platform offered by the college is its annual intercollegiate competition ‘Detour which recently concluded its latest edition.
Detour 22-23’ was entirely organized, managed, and executed by the mass media students of Jai Hind College.
The media festival had a variety of 28 events that ranged from literary, drama, dance, fashion, films, and photography, to graphic designing, make-up, styling, etc in which students from more than 20 Colleges across Mumbai participated.
Flagships like Sitcom Saga (Drama), Feel the Fusion (Dance), Reel It In (Short Film), Diss-Troy (Rap Event), and Guns and Roses (Band Event) were some of the most popular events in this 2-Day fest.
Participants as well as the jury thoroughly enjoyed the phenomenal creative programs. Each event was judged by industry legends who also enlightened participants with insightful advice to make students’ dreams a reality.
Highly acclaimed actors like Shrishti Srivastava, Yogita Bihani, Shiv Panditt, Pawan Kumar, Singers like Aashima Mahajan, Vishal Shelke, and Raghav Meattle, Ukrainian Director Dar Gai, and many more such esteemed guests attended the event as judges of different categories.
Students were in awe of the youth sensation Babil Khan as the ‘Qala’ star wholeheartedly interacted with them lovingly and humbly accepted the endless selfie requests.
In his address to students, Babil emphasized pursuing passion and having faith in themselves. Rapper Icon Kaam Bhaari’s attendance too had students going gaga as the artist not only attended the rapping event but also performed his popular tracks live.
This event saw a whooping participation of 500+ students across categories and a footfall of around 2000+ students in this 2-day mega fest that was hosted on the premises of the college.
After the pandemic robbed students of the offline fest experience in the last two years, it was great to see students finally getting to be the host and guests of such events. All in all, Detour 2022-23 proved that passion for art makes the world go round!
