Ahmedabad: Kaka-Ba Hospital, the CSR arm of Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited, recently performed a successful life-saving surgery free of cost on a 3-year-old male patient from Rajasthan.
Ankit Mali, 3 year-old boy, from Asada village in Rajasthan’s Barmer district, was diagnosed with Thalassemia Major six months after his birth. He faced severe health challenges, including the need for monthly blood transfusions and an enlarged spleen.
Ankit’s family was advised to consider splenectomy. Dr. Jignesh Patel, surgeon at Kaka-Ba Hospital at Hansot in Bharuch, performed the crucial splenectomy, providing Ankit with a new lease on life. The surgery was smooth and uneventful, and the child was discharged from the hospital days after the surgery.
