Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong. She lived in many countries before moving to London. Katrina received her first modeling opportunity as a teenager.
In 2003, Indian film maker Kaizad Gustad casted her in Boom at a fashion show in London. That was critical & commercial failure.
She established her successful modeling career in India. As she had poor command on Hindi, she found difficulty in getting Hindi films.

Early life of Katrina Kaif:
Katrina was born on 16th July 1983 in British Hong Kong with her mother surname Turquotte. Her father is a British businessman of Kashmiri descent. Her father name is Mohammed Kaif.
Her mother Suzanne is an English lawyer & charity worker. She has seven siblings. She is having three younger sisters named Melissa, Sonia & Isabel.
Katrina Kaif has three elder sisters named Stephanie, Christine, and Natasha & an elder brother named Sebastien.
Her parents divorced when she was a child. Her father moved to United States. She & her siblings were raised by her mother.
As per an interview to Indian Express in 2009, she was not in touch with her father. She lived for three years in London before moving to India. At the age of 14, Katrina won her first beauty contest in Hawaii.
After that, she received her first modelling assignment in jewellery campaign. She modelled professionally in London & appeared regularly at London Fashion Week.
Katrina Kaif’s Personal life:
Katrina has a close relationship with her family. As her mother is Christian & father is Muslim. She was allowed to practice a faith of her choice & she is a firm believer in God.
As per Times of India reporting in 2009, she uses to visit visits Siddhivinayak Temple, Mount Mary Church, and Sufi shrine Ajmer Sharif Dargah before her films are released.
She had rum0ors of a relationship with actor Salman Khan in 2003. She credits Salman Khan for giving her guidance and confidence.
Katrina Kaif was linked with actor Ranbir Kapoor during filming of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Their holiday photographs were leaked by Stardust in 2013 to confirm their relationship.
She wrote that she was” upset, depressed & invaded” by the breach of privacy. In 2016, they broke up. On 6th December 2021, she married actor Vicky Kaushal at Six Senses Resort, Fort Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. The marriage was subject of wide media coverage in India.
Career of Katrina Kaif:
Katrina made her acting debut a Hindi-English heist film with Amitabh Bachchan, Gulshan Grover, Jackie Shroff, Madhu Sapre and Padma Lakshmi.
During that she received more offers & decided to stay in India. For easy pronounce she changed her surname to her father’s surname.
Rohit Bal noticed her at India Fashion Week. Then she appeared in the first Kingfisher Calendar. She got successful modeling in India career by endorsing brands like Coca-Cola, LG, Fevicol & Samsung.
In 2003 Boom had its first screening at the Cannes Film Festival. It was heavily promoted there, but emerged as a critical & commercial failure.
Later, she dismissed Boom as an unimportant part of her career. Due to her poor English, filmmakers were hesitant to cast her in their films.
As a result, she started Hindi classes. Mahesh Bhatt replace her with Tara Sharma in Saaya.
In 2004, she appeared in the Telugu film Malliswari.
In that film she played the title role of Princess. She received a reported salary of ₹7.5 million (US$100,000) for the film, the highest for a female lead at the time in South Indian cinema.
Katrina Kaif was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress-Telugu & received many acting offers onward. In 2005, she acted opposite Abhishek Bachchan Sarkar.
Along with Salman khan, Susmita Sen & Sohail Khai she actedin Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya? That was her first real step into Bollywood.
For that film she received Stardust Award for Breakthrough Performance-Female. She followed with her second Telugu film, Allari Pidgu.
She appeared in Raj Kanwar’s Humko Deewana Kar Gaye with costar Akshy Kumar in 2006. She played with Mammootty in the malayam crime thriller Balram vs. Tharadas in the same year.
In 2007, she acted in four Bollywood hits named Namaste London, Apne, Welcome, Om Shanti Om. In Namaste London, she played the role of Btitsh Indian girl with Akshay Kumar.
In Apne she played opposite Dharmendra, Sunny Deol & Bobby Deol. After that, she acted in Partner with Salman Khan.
The film was major financial success. Her last film of the year was Welcome with Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Mallika Sherawat & Anil Kapoor.
It was the second highest-grossing Bollywood film.In 2008, she acted in Race with Saif Ali Khan & Akshaye Khanna. In Sing Is Kingg with Akshay Kumar.

In 2011, she acted in Yash Raj Films romantic comedy movie Mere Brother Ki Dulhan alongside Imran Khan & Ali Zafar.
Katrina Kaif received her second Filmfare nomination for Best Actress category. In 2012, she appeared in Chikni Chameli as an item number in Agneepath, it was incorporated with dance steps from the Lavani genre (a Maharashtrian folk dance).
After that she acted in in Kabir Khan’s thriller Ek Tha Tiger. The movie was the highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year.
Later in the same year, she acted with Shah Rukh Khan in Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Commercially, the film was box-office hit with revenues of ₹2.11 billion (US$28 million) worldwide.
In 2013, she rejoined Shah Rukh Khan for his “Temptations Reloaded” concert in Muscat, performing to an audience of over 18,000.
Again she joined Shah Rikh Khan, Deepika Padukone & Pitubull for the opening ceremony of 2013 IPL in KolKatta. She acted with Aamir Khan in Vijay Krishna Acharya’s action thriller Dhoom 3.
Dhoom 3 earned ₹5.42 billion (US$72 million) in box-office receipts. In 2014, she appeared in Siddharth Anand’s Bang Bang!
Against Hritik Roshan. In 2015, she acted in Phantom. She paired with Sidhartha Malhotra in science-fiction romance Baar Baar Dekho.
In 2016, she joined “Dream Team Tour” for performing in various American cities. In 2017, she acted against Anurag Basu’s comedy-adventure Jagga Jasoos.
It was a commercial disappointed film. In the same year, again she teamed with Salman Khan for Tiger Zinda Hai.
The movie was the sequal to the film Ek Tha Tiger. That film was premiered on Christmas weekend. It crossed over ₹1.1 billion within three days of release.
In 2018, she in Thugs of Hidostan & Zero. For Zero Kaif received Best Supporting Actress Award in Zee Cine Awards & nomination in Filmfare.
Again in 2019, Katrina Kaif joined with Salman Khan & Ali Abbas for Bharat.It was an adaptation of the South Korean film Ode to My Father.
She replaced Priyanka Chopra in that film. Bharat was one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2019.
In 2020, she acted in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar, but due to COVID-19 pandemic the movie released in November 2021.
The movie was a box-office success. It became India’s highest-grossing film of that year. She is also commited for Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa with Priyanka Chopra & Alia Bhatt.
As of 2021, she is filming Tiger 3 & Merry Christmas. She will be the star against Ishaan Khatter & Siddhant Chaturvedi in the horror movie Phone Bhoot. It is slated for release I July 2020.
Katrina is involved with Relief Projects India. It is a Charitable Trust run by her mother. It rescues abandoned baby girls & works to prevents female infanticide.
Her winning price from the game show 10 Ka Dum & Kaun Banega Crorepati were donated to her mother’s Mercy Home orphanage.
She was one of several celebrities who created promotional messages for Pearls Wave Trust in 2010. It campaigns against violence & abuse of women & girls.
Katrina Kaif joined the efforts of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to curb human trafficking in India in 2007.
