An Exclusive Interview with Kaushalya Choudhary, Founder of Sidhi Marwadi

In an exclusive interview, we speak with Kaushalya Choudhary, the visionary founder of Sidhi Marwadi. Her brand is a beautiful blend of traditional Marwadi craftsmanship and modern design, bringing heritage textiles to a global stage.

What inspired you to start Sidhi Marwadi and how did your early life influence your business?

I come from a small village called Kuri, Bhopalgarh in Rajasthan. As the eldest daughter in a large family, I was always involved in the kitchen. From an early age, I developed a deep connection with traditional, home-cooked food.

Over time, When i was travelling to another town where I felt food had no taste. Even though I felt sick as well , it directly showed what type of spices and oil are being used.  I noticed that most packaged food in the market had no soul — no purity.

Traditionally At our home we directly make Spices and cold press oil and which is 100% natural, we get nutrients and the taste too.

That’s when I decided to create something that is rooted in tradition, full of flavor, and pure at heart. That idea became Sidhi Marwadi.

What unique challenges did you face building your YouTube channel and brand from a rural setting?

When I began in 2017, I had nothing but a ₹7500 phone. I used bricks and steel utensils as a makeshift tripod.

The Internet was so slow that I had to upload videos from the rooftop — and each video would take 3–4 hours to upload. There was no lighting setup, no team, just belief. It was hard, but I knew if I spoke from the heart and stayed real, people would relate.

Why did you switch your content language from Hindi to Marwadi, and what was the impact?

Initially, I posted videos in Hindi, but they didn’t get much attention. One day, My GrandMother insisted that I try a video in my mother tongue, Marwadi — and it went viral!

That one video gave me 1 lakh+ subscribers and over ₹1 lakh earnings in a single month. It made me realize that speaking in your native language creates a powerful emotional connection.

How did your experience on MasterChef India affect your entrepreneurial journey?

Being on MasterChef India was a dream. I was the only woman from Rajasthan in the Top 12. I cooked dishes like Kooba Roti and Makhania Lassi, proudly showcasing the rich food culture of my state. The exposure gave me confidence and made me believe that our traditional recipes have global potential.

What sets Sidhi Marwadi’s products apart from commercial brands in terms of authenticity and quality?

Our products are chemical-free, preservative-free, and made using traditional methods. For example, our spices are made traditionally on low RPM , and our oils are cold-pressed at a slow speed to retain nutrients.

We follow the same process at scale that we use in our homes with morden touch — if it’s not good enough for my family, it’s not good enough for my customer.

Can you describe your women-centric employment model and its impact on rural communities?

We currently employ over 35 rural women directly in our unit. Additionally, women can start Business with us at an investment as small as ₹25,000.

This model allows them to work close to home, earn with dignity, and gain identity. Today, many women proudly introduce themselves as entrepreneurs, not just homemakers.

How do you maintain traditional values in modern business as the brand scales?

Tradition is the soul of Sidhi Marwadi. Whether it’s our packaging, ingredients, or processing methods — everything reflects our culture. We’ve modernized operations, yes, but never at the cost of our roots. I believe, modernity should empower, not erase, tradition.

What role has your family played in your entrepreneurial journey?

My family has been my biggest support. From shooting YouTube videos to setting up our first factory, my husband, kids, and my whole family always stood by me.  They never let me feel alone, even when the path was uncertain.

How are you empowering other women, and what advice would you give to aspiring female entrepreneurs?

Sidhi Marwadi is not just a brand — it’s a platform for women. If I can do this from a village with just a phone and passion, so can any woman. My advice is simple:
“Where you come from doesn’t matter. What you believe in, and how much you’re ready to work for it — that’s what changes lives.”

Kaushalya Choudhary’s vision for Sidhi Marwadi is a powerful example of how passion and purpose can preserve tradition. She’s not just building a business; she’s weaving a legacy for artisans and heritage.
