Kiara Advani , byname of Alia Advani is an Indian actress who has appeared in several Bollywood , Hindi films, and Telugu movies.

Kiara Advani is also famous for her role of real-life character of Sakshi Rawat as Shakshi, a hotel manager in Neeraj Pandey’s sport biopic “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” and Netflix anthology “Lust Stories”.  

Alia Advani  known professionally as Kiara Advani born 31  July 1992 to a Sindhi Hindu businessman Jagdeep Advani, and a teacher Genevieve Jaffrey teacher who has Portuguese, Scottish, Irish, and Spanish origins. 

Salman Khan and Juhi Chawla was a childhood friend of Kiara’s mom, Genevieve Jaffrey, as they grew up together in Mumbai in Bandra.

She changed her name to Kiara before her debut in Bollywood. Aaliya is her first name. Salman Khan suggested her to change Aaliya to other name because of Alia Bhatt. There can’t be two Indian actress with the same name in film industry.

They were brainstorming with lots of good names. One day she was watching Anjaana Anjaani Hindi film, and in this movie, Priyanka Chopra introduces her character: ‘Hi, I am Kiara.’ Aaliya loved the way she said it.

Salman Khan suggested another name, but Kiara is the name that she chose. Today her parents call her “Kiara”.

She is the grandniece of Late Sayeed Jaffrey, great-granddaughter of the veteran Bollywood actor Late Ashok Kumar, and niece of the model Shaheen Jaffrey.

Kiara Advani completed her school education from the Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai. She was good at studies and scored 92% in Class 12.

She completed her graduation in Mass Communication from Jai Hind College, Mumbai. After graduation, Kiara did short term acting courses. She learnt acting with Roshan Taneja and Anupam Kher. She has a younger brother, Mishaal. She and her brother would often fight in childhood.

In 2017, she appeared in Machine, another Bollywood film with debutant actor Mustafa Burmawalla. She followed by a starring role in Netflix anthology film Lust Stories in 2018.

The sport biopic “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” starer Sushant Singh Rajput  with Disha Patani  was a huge commercial success office but it didn’t help her professionally.
