Can you describe the journey that led you to become CEO of BAXY Mobility? What experiences and skills do you believe prepared you for this role?
Kumar Ramamurthi: I have close to 4 decades of corporate experience spanning across multiple functions, such as Finance, Taxation, Strategy, Sales, Sourcing, Operations, etc.. I have also been leading multiple business verticals like Technical Textiles, Industrial Plastics, Chemicals, Nutrition, Pharma and now Automobiles.
To me, leading business is driven by common sense with human approach. To me, always people come first. My belief in career is “Listen – Learn – Leverage – Lead”.
BAXY Mobility is known for its wide range of three-wheelers. How do you see the market for three-wheelers evolving, especially in light of increasing urbanization and environmental concerns?
Kumar Ramamurthi: The market for three-wheelers especially EV is expected to evolve positively due to rising urbanization and environmental concerns. As cities are becoming more congested, three-wheelers offer a compact and efficient last mile mobility, both in the cargo and passenger segment.
Additionally, the shift towards eco-friendly solutions due to the Government initiatives, is driving the adoption of electric three-wheelers, which can reduce emissions and contribute to cleaner urban environments.
This shift presents opportunities for manufacturers like BAXY Mobility to innovate and expand their offerings in sustainable mobility solutions.
Overall, the three-wheeler market is likely to grow as it aligns with the needs of urban populations and environmental goals. As per various Government, Niti Aayog and Consultants prognosis, amongst all types of automobiles, 3-Wheeler segment is estimated to grow at a CAGR >25% for the next 5 years.
What are some of the biggest challenges BAXY Mobility faces in the current market, and how do you plan to address them?
Kumar Ramamurthi: BAXY Mobility faces several significant challenges in the current market, including increasing competition, regulatory changes and the supply chain challenges. To address these challenges, we plan to focus on innovation and differentiation by investing in research and development to enhance our product offerings and incorporate advanced technologies.
By staying agile and responsive to market dynamics, we aim to maintain our competitive edge and promote sustainable mobility solutions. We are working closely with Lithium Ion battery manufacturers for swap ability and battery management services. Additionally, our collaborations with various aggregators help us access new customer segments.
