An Exclusive Interview with Lavanya Shastri, Founder of Adivaa Smart Powering Solutions, India’s first start-up to launch smart hydrogen wellness products in the preventive healthcare space

In this exclusive interview, Lavanya Shastri, Founder of Adivaa Smart Powering Solutions, shares his journey in pioneering India’s first start-up to launch smart hydrogen wellness products. His innovative approach bridges technology and preventive healthcare for a sustainable future.

What inspired you to start Adivaa Smart Powering Solutions?

Lavanya Shastri: Adivaa Smart was born out of my constant pursuit to merge meaningful innovation with everyday wellness. Having worked across diverse sectors, from Wipro and Barclays to leading ventures in fitness and renewable energy, I saw how technology, when used thoughtfully, can transform lives.

The idea behind Adivaa began with a simple question: Can technology truly enhance human health, not complicate it? That curiosity led me to explore solutions that bring science and simplicity together.

What started as a smart electronics company soon evolved into a health-tech movement focused on preventive wellness through hydrogen-powered innovation.

Today, Adivaa Smart Powering Solutions stands for intelligent wellness, creating products that make people’s lives healthier, safer, and effortlessly better.

My inspiration has always been to make science feel human, and to build a brand that empowers people to live smarter, not harder.

For those unfamiliar, can you explain how hydrogen-based wellness technology works?

Lavanya Shastri: Hydrogen-based wellness is rooted in one of the most advanced and scientifically validated health technologies in the world.

When water is enriched with molecular hydrogen (H₂), it acts as a powerful antioxidant that helps neutralize harmful free radicals inside the body, the root cause of inflammation, fatigue, and many lifestyle-related disorders.

At Adivaa Smart, our hydrogen water bottles and ionizers use globally certified PEM + SPE membrane technology, sourced from DuPont (USA) and Korea, to infuse ultra-pure hydrogen into water without producing harmful by-products like ozone or chlorine.

The result is medical-grade, high-concentration hydrogen water, exceeding 9000 PPB, that supports better energy, cellular recovery, skin health, focus, and overall vitality.

In simple terms, it’s technology that allows your body to heal and recharge at a molecular level, naturally, making preventive wellness effortless and intelligent.

What challenges have you faced in educating the market about this technology?

Lavanya Shastri: The biggest challenge has been awareness. Hydrogen wellness is already mainstream in countries like Japan and Korea, but in India, it’s still a new concept.

People are curious, yet skeptical, often because the market is flooded with imitation products that use unsafe, outdated technology and make unverified health claims. This not only confuses consumers but also dilutes trust in genuine, science-backed innovations like ours.

Another challenge has been simplifying the science. Hydrogen therapy sounds highly technical, so we’ve had to break it down into relatable, everyday benefits like better energy, focus, and recovery.

Through continuous education, transparent communication, and real-world demonstrations, we’re changing perceptions and building trust one step at a time.

At Adivaa, we believe awareness is the first step toward wellness, and we’re committed to making this technology both understandable and accessible for every household in India.

How receptive has the Indian wellness industry been to hydrogen-based solutions?

Lavanya Shastri: Honestly, it’s been both exciting and challenging. India’s wellness market is evolving fast, but hydrogen-based wellness is still a very new concept here.

When we first introduced our products, there was a lot of curiosity, people wanted to know what exactly hydrogen water is and why it’s so different. But there was also skepticism, which is natural whenever a new science-backed innovation enters a market that’s used to quick fixes.

The encouraging part is that the response from early adopters, athletes, wellness professionals, clinics, and premium consumers has been phenomenal.

They’ve experienced the benefits firsthand and become our strongest advocates. That’s how awareness is growing through trust and real results, not just marketing.

I’d say the industry is opening up beautifully now. As India shifts from reactive healthcare to preventive wellness, people are ready to explore technologies that actually work at a cellular level. Hydrogen wellness fits right into that shift, it’s scientific, natural, and future-forward.

Are there any collaborations with healthcare or sports organizations in the pipeline?

Lavanya Shastri: Yes, absolutely. We’re currently in active discussions with a few wellness and sports-focused organizations, including some that work closely with athletes and preventive healthcare initiatives. While we can’t disclose names just yet, the goal is to integrate hydrogen wellness into professional performance, recovery, and long-term health programs.

These collaborations will play a key role in demonstrating the real-world impact of our technology, how hydrogen can support endurance, faster recovery, and overall vitality.

We’re very optimistic about what’s ahead and are taking a strategic approach to ensure the partnerships align with our science-backed, preventive wellness vision.

What strategies are you using to scale Adivaa Smart Powering Solutions in India?

Lavanya Shastri: Our focus right now is on building depth, not just reach. We’re scaling Adivaa Smart through a very structured, multi-layered approach.

On one side, we’re strengthening our digital presence from SEO-driven education campaigns to influencer collaborations and targeted Meta and Google ads, to make hydrogen wellness more visible and understandable to the masses.

At the same time, we’re expanding offline partnerships with wellness clinics, hospitals, gyms, and retail experience zones, so people can actually experience the product before buying.

We’ve already seen great traction across metros, and the next phase is about deeper penetration into Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities.

On the backend, we’re investing heavily in R&D and technology integration, ensuring every new model we introduce pushes the boundaries of technology and wellness, not just aesthetics.

Our goal is to make Adivaa the most trusted hydrogen wellness brand in India, and eventually, a global benchmark for preventive health technology.

What is your long-term vision for hydrogen-based wellness in India?

Lavanya Shastri: For me, the vision goes beyond selling a product. It’s about shifting how people in India look at health from reacting to illness to actually preventing it.

I see hydrogen wellness as a bridge between science and daily life, something that quietly supports the body without needing constant effort or dependency.

In the long run, I want Adivaa to stand for trust and authenticity in this space. We’re not just introducing a new technology; we’re trying to build understanding around it, educating people, breaking myths, and proving that innovation can be both effective and responsible.

If in a few years, families start seeing hydrogen water as a simple, everyday wellness choice, not a trend or gadget and I’d call that success. My goal is to make that shift happen, slowly but meaningfully, with honesty and purpose.

What advice would you give to entrepreneurs introducing disruptive technologies in India?

Lavanya Shastri: Honestly, India is one of the most exciting yet challenging markets for innovation. The first thing I’d say is, don’t expect people to understand your idea immediately. Disruptive technologies take time to earn trust.

You have to educate before you sell, and that means being patient, consistent, and transparent in how you communicate.

Second, never underestimate the importance of credibility. In new categories like ours, people don’t just buy products, they buy confidence.

Back everything with research, validation, and a genuine intent to solve a real problem, not just to look different.

And finally, surround yourself with a team that believes in your vision even on the difficult days. Disruption can be lonely at first, but if you stay authentic and focused on creating real value, the market eventually listens.

Lavanya Shastri’s vision highlights the power of innovation, wellness, and entrepreneurship in redefining health and lifestyle solutions for modern India.
