An Exclusive Interview with Manoj Soni, CEO of YoloBus & and EasyGreenMobility, India’s leading tech-enabled on-time intercity bus service

In this engaging interview, Manoj Soni, CEO of YoloBus & and EasyGreenMobility, shares his journey of transforming intercity travel in India through technology and innovation.

He discusses how YoloBus combines comfort, punctuality, and smart connectivity to redefine bus travel, making it a reliable, tech-enabled experience for modern commuters across the country.

What inspired you to create YoloBus, and what gap in the intercity travel space were you aiming to fill?

Manoj Soni: YoloBus was acquired by EaseMyTrip a few years ago, and I recently took additional charge — to drive its next phase of growth – alongside my role as CEO of Easy Green Mobility.

The gap we’re addressing is clear: intercity bus travel in India hasn’t evolved much in terms of comfort, predictability, and customer experience. Our vision is to make long-distance bus journeys seamless, reliable, and delightful through the smart use of technology and superior service.

YoloBus is described as a tech-enabled mobility service. Can you explain how technology plays a role in ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction?

Manoj Soni: Technology is at the core of YoloBus. From seamless online booking and live tracking to real-time feedback and predictive maintenance, every aspect is designed to make travel stress-free and dependable.

By using data intelligence and automation, we deliver reliability, transparency, and a consistently superior experience for every passenger.

Punctuality and comfort are recurring pain points in bus travel. How does YoloBus ensure on-time departures and arrivals?

Manoj Soni: We’ve built strong operational discipline backed by well-defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Our on-ground team follows these processes diligently to ensure timely departures and arrivals.

Continuous monitoring, real-time updates, and proactive communication all come together to deliver a smoother and more reliable travel experience.

What features of the YoloBus app are most appreciated by your customers?

Manoj Soni: Our customers often tell us they love how simple and intuitive the app feels. Live tracking is another favorite — it gives passengers real-time visibility of their journey and removes uncertainty about delays or arrival times. We’ve focused on building an interface that’s both user-friendly and transparent.

The intercity mobility sector in India is highly fragmented. What are some key challenges in working with traditional operators?

Manoj Soni: One of the biggest challenges is the limited use of technology among traditional operators. Many still rely on manual systems, which leads to inefficiencies and inconsistent customer experiences.

We’re working to bridge that gap by helping & educating them adopt tech solutions that improve operations and deliver a better travel experience overall.

How do you foster collaboration with stakeholders such as state transport authorities, bus operators, and investors?

Manoj Soni: There is no rule of thumb in building partnerships — we need to be ethical, flexible, and fully committed to delivering the best outcomes.

The government has been highly progressive in shaping India’s mobility ecosystem, and we see them as true partners in this journey.

We work closely with transport authorities to align with their vision, empower operators through technology and knowledge sharing, and maintain transparency and honesty to strengthen investor confidence.

Ultimately, it’s about building trust and creating long-term value for everyone contributing to the transformation of intercity mobility in India.

And with the upcoming launch of our electric bus division under Easy Green Mobility this January, we’re taking that collaboration a step further — combining sustainable innovation with a shared vision for a cleaner, smarter mobility future for India.

What advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs in the mobility and logistics space?

Manoj Soni: Stay purpose-driven and patient — mobility is a long-term play, not a quick win. Focus on solving real problems rather than chasing trends.

Build partnerships, embrace technology, and always stay close to the ground realities of operations. Most importantly, be ethical and resilient; in this sector, trust and execution matter more than anything else.

In fact, our upcoming EV launch under/with EasyGreenMobility this January is a reflection of that belief — that innovation, integrity, and long-term commitment can truly redefine India’s mobility landscape.

As the conversation concludes, Manoj Soni reflects on YoloBus’s mission to revolutionize mobility while enhancing passenger trust and convenience.

His commitment to innovation, safety, and customer satisfaction continues to drive YoloBus forward as India’s leading tech-powered travel solution, setting new benchmarks for efficiency, reliability, and a seamless travel experience.
