Can you share your journey into the beauty industry and what inspired you to create IBAEUTY?
Manya Nayar: It started with a lockdown, we were all under 1 roof and 4 walls. Honestly, people re-discovered themselves, took a pause from their usual life, and were diving deep into their own creativity.
Exactly, then I noticed men enjoy beauty & makeup as a niche as much as women do! Just then, I realised but then why we restrict the niche specifically to women, because the dictionary doesn’t restrict the meaning by gender.
I couldn’t find beauty products & brands that were catering to all the genders, & that just felt like an opportunity to tap into this niche. Everything was either too pink, too macho, or just plain boring.
So I said, “If no one else is doing it, I will.” IBAEUTY was born out of a need for expression—real, raw, unapologetic. And gender-neutral? Babe, beauty has no gender. It was about damn time someone said it loud.
IBAEUTY emphasises a gender-neutral and skin-first approach. Can you elaborate on this and why it’s important to you?
Manya Nayar: We’re not here to put a label on beauty. IBAEUTY exists for every skin tone, every identity, every vibe. Makeup should feel like just you, skincare, not a mask.
That’s why every product is loaded with skin-loving ingredients, we solely make products on the approach of 50% skincare & 50% makeup—because we’re not here to hide your face, we’re here to highlight your “real features”.
And honestly, that’s beautiful, you’re beautiful, your beauty is your BAE. The world doesn’t need another brand selling perfection—it needs brands celebrating individuality.
Can you walk us through your product development process? How do you ensure that your products are both effective and safe for all skin types?
Manya Nayar: Our lab is like a little potion playground. We start with a skin-first mindset: “What would this do for your skin even without the glam?”
From there, it’s all about research, testing (on real people, never animals!), tweaking formulas, and checking every single ingredient.
We obsess over texture, payoff, and how it plays with real life. Every swipe, pump, or dab you get has been obsessed over—so your skin gets love, not just pigment.
What trends in the beauty industry are you most excited about, and how is IBAEUTY positioning itself to adapt to these trends?
Manya Nayar: Ugh, SO many! Skinimalism is a vibe. Barrier-loving ingredients? Yes please. And the whole AI-meets-beauty space is an absolute FIRE. But trend or not, we stick to our core: clean, conscious, inclusive, gender-neutral.
We’re not here to chase fads—we’re here to set standards. So when the world catches up, we’re already there… glowing.
What are your aspirations for IBAEUTY in the next five to ten years? Are there any new products or initiatives you are particularly excited about?
Manya Nayar: World domination? Jk… kinda. But seriously—scaling across borders, launching into categories like hybrid Makeup, Innovation in beauty from INDIA! And making IBAEUTY a global community.
Think immersive pop-ups, shade ranges that truly get desi skin, and collabs that turn heads. We’ve got some major drops coming, and let’s just say—your shelf is about to get hotter.
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to enter the beauty industry?
Manya Nayar: Start with your why. If you’re just chasing trends, the hype will fade. You will FAIL, not once, twice, but many times.
But, build something with heart, with truth. Be ready to hustle, get knocked down, and still show up with glitter on your cheek. And don’t be afraid to be different, that’s your power. Own it.
