Mother Dairy’s Full-Cream Milk, Token Milk To Be Costlier In Delhi
November 21, 2022: This is the fourth hike by Mother Dairy this year and comes at a time when food inflation is already at high levels.
A spokesperson said the decision was taken due to the increase in the cost of purchasing raw milk from dairy farmers.
Last month too, Mother Dairy hiked the prices of full cream and cow’s milk. In the fourth round of milk price hikes this year, Mother Dairy has hiked the prices of full-cream milk and token milk across Delhi-NCR from Sunday to Monday.
After the recent hike, Mother Dairy’s full-cream milk per liter has been priced at Rs. 1 and token milk at Rs. 2 will be expensive.
From Monday, November 21, a liter of full cream milk will be sold at Rs 64 and token milk (bulk vended milk) at Rs 50 per liter in Delhi-NCR.
However, the company has not announced any change in the price of full-cream milk sold in 500 ml packs.
The rise in milk prices has come at a time when food inflation is already at high levels. A spokesperson of Mother Dairy said that the decision has been taken due to the increase in the cost of raw milk purchased from dairy farmers.
“This year, there is a huge gap in milk demand and supply across the dairy industry. Increases in feed and fodder prices, erratic monsoons, and so forth have affected the availability of raw milk, which has put pressure on raw milk prices.

The purpose of the price revision is to continue supporting our farmers with fair remuneration while ensuring quality milk for consumers, the spokesperson added, suggesting that the ongoing demand-supply mismatch even after the festive season has led to a strengthening.

Mother Dairy spends 75-80 percent of milk sales on milk procurement. Ahead of the latest price hike, Mother Dairy last month raised the price of full-cream milk and cow’s milk in Delhi-NCR and some other markets in north India by Rs. 2 was increased.
Even in March and August, the rate for all variants is Rs. An improvement of 2 liters was made. Last month, Amul Cooperative also increased the price of full cream milk and buffalo milk in all states except Gujarat by Rs. An increase of 2 was announced. With the increase, full cream milk is being sold at Rs 63 per liter.
