An Exclusive Interview with Nayan Degda, founder of PCA Technologies

Meet Nayan Bhupendra Degda, Director and visionary founder of PCA Technologies. With 20+ years in electrical and electronics—spanning LV to EHV—he drives innovative energy solutions “for everyone, everywhere.” From MNC leadership to pandemic-born startup success, his data-driven strategies power strategic partnerships and global expansion.

Please tell us a little about your entrepreneurial journey

Nayan Degda: Since its founding, PCA Technologies has experienced steady expansion. Starting as a small entity with a focus on the Indian market, it quickly built a nationwide sales and service network, including dealer partnerships across major cities like Vadodara, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. By 2025, the company had grown to 30+ employees.

It expanded internationally, exporting to over 21 countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, , Bhutan, and markets in Africa. Growth has been driven by strategic partnerships, hiring initiatives in business development, sales, engineering, and services, and investments in infrastructure like an in-house testing facility and training center at its Gujarat headquarters.

The company has also emphasized stockholding, kitting facilities, and quality systems to support rapid delivery and customization, enabling it to serve both domestic and global clients in the power sector.

PCA has significantly contributed to the sector by supplying high-quality, certified power cable accessories that improve reliability, efficiency, and sustainability in LV, MV, and HV networks.

Through its Nexans collaboration, it introduces advanced global technologies to India, reducing downtime and supporting resilient electrical infrastructure for utilities, industries, and developers. The training center fosters skill development, aligning with India’s energy transition goals.

Kindly brief us about your company, its specialization, and the services that it offers

Nayan Degda: PCA Technologies is the official channel partner of Nexans. For over 120 years, the Nexans Group has brought energy to life by providing customers with advanced cable technologies for power and data transmission.

The Group designs solutions and services along the entire value chain in three main business areas: Building & Territories, High Voltage & Projects, and Industry & Solutions.

The eminent EUROMOLD® brand is also a part of the Nexans group with its main production factory located in Belgium, the Nexans Heat Shrink kits are produced in Nexans’ Offida, Italy factory and the GPH® shear bolt connectors & lugs are manufactured in Hof, Germany. The production facilities of Nexans are automated and incorporate the use of robotics.

What is your biggest USP

Nayan Degda: A cornerstone of PCA Technologies’ success is its strategic collaboration with Nexans, a global leader in cable systems and accessories. PCA serves as the authorized partner in India for Nexans Heat Shrink Joints & Terminations (including products like JTS straight through joints, MONOi indoor terminations, and MONOe outdoor terminations) and EUROMOLD Separable Connectors (such as the 480TB screened elbow/bolted tee connectors for up to 72 kV).

These products are tested and certified to national and international standards, ensuring reliability in LV, MV, and HV applications.

PCA complements the Nexans range with allied products for cable sheath bonding, insulation enhancement, heat shrink tubing, mastics, and mechanical connectors (e.g., GPH series for wind applications).

This partnership brings cutting-edge, sustainable technologies to the Indian market, backed by Nexans’ global legacy. It enables PCA to offer end-to-end solutions—from auditing and design to supply, installation, and training—while meeting diverse customer needs with high-quality, certified accessories.

The collaboration also powers the PCA Technologies × Nexans Training Centre in Vadodara, where expert-led programs upskill installers and professionals on Nexans products, global standards, and best practices for safe, efficient cable network management.

What was your mission and vision at the outset?

Nayan Degda: PCA Technologies is a global provider of engineered cable accessories solutions for LV, MV & HV cable networks. PCA’s solutions are ideal for improving the performance, reliability and economy of your electrical network and equipment.

Our 40+ years of industry rich experience and technical expertise enables us to audit, design, manufacture, supply, and install cable accessories’ solutions which are customised to the needs of customers.

What’s your company achievements?

Nayan Degda: Renewables: Partnership with Avaada Group — In 2025, PCA was honored as a “Valued Partner” by Avaada, a major Indian renewable developer with over 5.4 GW in solar and wind capacity. PCA supplies Nexans heat shrink joints, terminations, and mechanical connectors critical for wind projects, ensuring reliable connectivity in challenging conditions.

This supports Avaada’s solar parks in states like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, aiding CO₂ reduction, job creation, and progress toward India’s clean energy targets.

Industries: Power Network Enhancements — PCA has successfully executed orders for industrial clients using Nexans heat shrink terminations (e.g., TTGI3 indoor, TTGE3 outdoor) and separable connectors. These improve insulation and bonding in manufacturing facilities, with reliable supply via its nationwide network and exports to industrial markets in Nepal and Bangladesh.

Infrastructure Projects: Nationwide and International Deployments — PCA delivers end-to-end Nexans solutions, including EUROMOLD separable connectors, for utility and grid projects.

Ex-stock kitted systems enable rapid deployment in urban electrification and infrastructure developments, enhancing grid stability and supporting economic growth in India and export destinations like Bhutan and Zimbabwe.

What was the inspiration behind turning an entrepreneur

Nayan Degda: Career Insights and Market Observations —Based on the past experience of Indian energy domain, on operational strategies, project execution, and delivering cable accessories solutions, these experiences exposed founders to persistent challenges in the Indian market, including limited availability of high-quality, reliable cable accessories from domestic manufacturers.

The sector often relied heavily on imports or unorganized players offering substandard products, leading to issues like inconsistent performance, safety risks, and inadequate compliance with international standards.

Identifying Market Gaps — A major driving force was the recognition that there are very few quality manufacturers of cable accessories in India. The market suffered from quality concerns, proliferation of counterfeit or low-grade products, lack of technical expertise among installers, and fragmented supply chains—issues highlighted across industry reports on cables accessories.

This created significant room for a new entrant capable of offering premium, certified products backed by global partnerships, while addressing unmet needs in reliability and performance for critical applications in power networks, renewables, industries, and infrastructure.

Emphasis on Comprehensive Services — Beyond products, founders saw an opportunity to differentiate through superior after-sales installation services, technical support, and training.

Many existing players focused primarily on supply without robust end-to-end solutions, leading to installation errors, downtime, and reduced longevity of cable systems.

By providing auditing, design, on-site installation, and hands-on training (e.g., through the PCA Technologies × Nexans Training Centre), PCA could fill this void, ensuring “seamless connectivity” and minimizing failures in high-stakes environments.

Nayan Degda’s journey at PCA Technologies exemplifies resilient leadership, blending deep industry expertise with bold innovation. As he champions accessible energy connectivity worldwide, his insights inspire entrepreneurs to turn challenges into opportunities for collective growth and impact.
