Nidhi Sharma-Founder-Half Life To Health

Interview with Nidhi Sharma, Women Entrepreneur and Founder of Half Life To Health

Nidhi Sharma is a long-distance runner and has run several half and full marathons in the last 7 years. She has been working in Health & Wellness industry for the last 4 years.

Before starting her own venture HLTH, she was working in corporates and had more than 15 years of experience in Architecture and Constructions Management.

Please tell us a little about your entrepreneurial journey

Nidhi Sharma: I started my own startup after gaining enough experience in corporate organizations. Though the corporate experience helped me in many ways, the hurdles I faced while running a company needed a lot more perseverance to sail through.

As an entrepreneur, one has to be a jack of different traits. Personally, I learned nuances of different disciplines like accounting, marketing and business development.

Kindly brief us about your company, its specialization, and the services that it offers

Nidhi Sharma: We provide health and wellness services which include, diet plans, workout plans, online consulting, stress management seminars and other wellness services focused on busy professionals and busy moms.

What is your biggest USP

Nidhi Sharma: Our aim is to provide easy and customized health plans through our platform HLTH focused on busy professionals. We aspire to make health services accessible to all at a minimum price by enabling the use of technology. We are solving a complex social problem with technology at its heart.

What made you choose this type of business?

Nidhi Sharma: I understand that women, especially working professionals & mothers have a lot to do and their health always takes a backseat. I experienced it first-hand when my own sister passed away due to a bacterial infection. My sister had weight issues and never prioritized her health.

What was your mission and vision at the outset?

Nidhi Sharma: We believe that a healthy woman translates to a healthy family. Having fit and healthy women will automatically benefit our families and society.

And hence, HLTH’s mission is to make it easy for women to be healthy and fit. We welcome you to HLTH and would love to be part of your journey.

What is your Leadership Mantra

Nidhi Sharma: To empower people around me to do their best.

What’s your company’s goals?

Nidhi Sharma: Half Life To Health aims to be an AI-powered health platform offering customized plans to meet the needs of busy professionals and mothers.

These plans, combined with counseling, motivation and continuous support will help build the right ecosystem for these women to better their health in a simple, sustainable manner.

What was the inspiration behind turning an entrepreneur

Nidhi Sharma: We feel that people are unable to prioritize their health and are not willing to take time off for it. A lot of this is because of a lack of awareness and following old redundant practices.

Through our social media platforms, we discuss and create awareness about such issues. As these issues are very relatable, we get millions of views and thousands of messages showering love for our work.

Such connection with the audience motivates us to create meaningful content and programs to support the community.

What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?

Nidhi Sharma: There are always challenges when you run a business of your own. The biggest ones have been around building and sustaining a good team, building plans with a good understanding of customer needs and behaviour, etc.

Key things to consider before starting a startup

Nidhi Sharma: The books are filled with how to analyze the feasibility of a new startup by target market size, perfect market fit and several other jargons.

All these things are secondary, the primary motivation should be your inner drive to solve the problem through your product.

What are some of the biggest mistakes you’ve made?

Nidhi Sharma: In retrospect, there is always a thought that we could have started a little earlier. But, that is how it always is. The good thing is that the market we operate in is huge.

Even though there are a lot of players/competitors, there is still a huge opportunity for someone providing the right services.

Also, in the beginning, we were trying to do a lot of things on our own. But, over time, we have realized the power of collaboration. Wish we could have realized it at the beginning itself.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Nidhi Sharma: Keep trying. Persistence is the key. There will be a lot of times when things will not work out. Don’t lose hope, keep the motivation high and keep putting in the work.

Your success tips for young and aspiring entrepreneurs

Nidhi Sharma: Keep your vision clear. But, the strategy and the initiatives to reach there can always be reassessed. Build a team that sticks with you and aligns with the vision.
