Niraj Kumar: Our technology vision is to make AI and cloud solutions that are both effective and ethical, no matter where our clients operate. We believe in building platforms that are adaptable, secure, and built for real business needs and not just technology for its own sake.

Our strategy is to automate complexity, embed governance from day one, and ensure our solutions can scale with changing demands.

We focus on continuous innovation, like our Wingspan platform, which uses intelligent agents to streamline data and AI workflows, making it easier for enterprises to modernize and deploy AI fast, safely, and sustainably. This approach helps us stay ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape.​

Onix has developed AI systems like the Phoenix engine. How do these AI tools transform enterprise operations and decision-making?

Niraj Kumar: At Onix, our approach to deploying AI solutions is to empower organizations with tools that automate complexity and deliver actionable insights. AI should not just be a technical addition but a practical enabler of smarter and faster decision-making cycles.

By embedding intelligence across the data and operational workflow, these solutions convert raw information into contextually relevant actions, minimizing manual involvement and guaranteeing precision in intricate workflows.

One such solution is Phoenix, a context-aware AI engine that streamlines how teams access and act on information. It cuts through traditional reporting complexity with real-time, conversational insights while eliminating the operational challenges of managing advanced AI models.

 How does Onix integrate emerging technologies such as generative AI and blockchain into its product offerings?

Niraj Kumar: We believe emerging technologies should serve a clear business purpose, not just be adopted for their novelty. Generative AI is becoming a key part of how we help enterprises automate content creation, generate synthetic data for secure AI training, and accelerate decision-making.

 For instance, our Kingfisher engine enables organizations to build realistic but privacy-safe datasets, allowing them to train AI models without exposing sensitive data. This is especially valuable in regulated industries, where compliance and security are critical, such as in the financial or healthcare sector.

Overall, our approach to driving innovation is very disciplined. We integrate new technologies when they add measurable value and can be managed securely. This ensures that our clients can streamline their operations and stay competitive without taking on unnecessary risk.

Niraj Kumar: One of the biggest hurdles is modernizing legacy systems that were never designed for today’s AI and cloud demands. Helping enterprises evolve from fragmented and legacy-heavy environments to cloud and AI-ready frameworks is a challenge.

Many of these systems weren’t built for real-time intelligence or elastic scaling, so the transformation often requires thoughtful re-engineering. We overcome this by re-architecting applications and strengthening the underlying infrastructure so it can support AI’s real-time processing requirements without delays.

Data governance is an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time milestone. With data flowing in from multiple systems, countries, and regulatory regimes, maintaining trust, privacy, and compliance requires close attentiveness.

We address this through automated policy enforcement and real-time observability that scales with the organization.

We also prioritize continuous learning and partner closely with clients, ensuring our solutions are practical and aligned with their unique business goals. This approach helps us maintain agility and innovation while addressing technical complexity and compliance demands effectively.

Looking ahead, which technology trends excite you most for their potential to reshape business and IT landscapes?

Niraj Kumar: I am observing that generative AI is moving beyond theoretical promise to become a practical tool for solving complex challenges. It is enabling industry-specific solutions and empowering sectors like healthcare, finance, and supply chain with tailored, multimodal capabilities.

The convergence of AI, data, and cloud is creating a powerful trifecta, driving smarter decisions, hyper-personalization, and faster discovery of new opportunities.​

A major shift we’re seeing is the rise of multi-agent systems as a standard way of operating. Instead of isolated AI tools, businesses are beginning to rely on networks of specialized agents that collaborate across functions, for example, a sales agent triggering contracts, a finance agent validating pricing, and a customer success agent orchestrating onboarding automatically.

This will become an expectation in the B2B ecosystem. We are already ahead of the curve with Wingspan, an agent-based architecture that allows specialized agents to work together across data, governance, and AI workflows as part of day-to-day operations.

Looking ahead, platforms will increasingly offer pre-built agent ecosystems where multiple agents coordinate seamlessly across a business’s technology stack.

Another trend gaining momentum is the move from predictive analytics to prescriptive AI. Enterprises don’t just want to know what might happen. They want systems that can recommend the next best action, run simulations, and, in some cases, act autonomously within defined guardrails.

What advice would you give to aspiring technology leaders who want to drive impactful change through innovation?

Niraj Kumar: Impactful change starts with flexible platforms that support rapid adaptation and experimentation. Aspiring tech leaders should embrace cloud-native architectures and data migration strategies that allow systems to evolve as business needs shift, enabling faster decision-making and scalability.

Focusing on modular, scalable solutions lets organizations respond quickly to new challenges and opportunities.​

Prioritizing security, compliance, and ethical considerations in all solutions is equally crucial. This builds trust and ensures long-term success. Innovation is not just about being first to market. It’s about making a difference that is sustainable.

Build robust privacy and security frameworks from the start and automate monitoring and policy enforcement to maintain governance effectiveness. This ensures trust and resilience as you scale AI and data-driven initiatives.​

Finally, invest in your talent. Encourage collaboration between cloud engineers, data specialists, and business teams, and support ongoing upskilling. When teams understand both the tools and the outcomes, innovation becomes faster, more grounded, and far more sustainable.
