As part of this endeavour, we invited yet another passionate entrepreneur Oumesh Sauba, founder of NuBooks India for an exclusive interview with us.

Tell us a little about yourself

Oumesh Sauba: My name is Oumesh Sauba, I am the founder of NuBooks India. I am a qualified accountant with over 20 years of experience.

Together with Prashant, Vikash and Monika, we have created NuBooks to help micro and small businesses with their taxes.

Our priority is to make it easy for micro and small businesses to manage their finances all in one place. NuBooks has the state of the art AI technology for invoice processing.

Please tell us a little about your entrepreneurial journey

Oumesh Sauba: When I started NuBooks, I was never skeptical about the number of customers I can reach per day. I had the capital to turn an idea into a business that’s how we started.

As a startup we have lots of challenges, so the journey is not so different from any other startup which must do a lot with little available resources.

The best part is we are a highly motivated team with fire and zeal of success thus it’s fun to have a multitasking team member who are self-driven.

We are proud to have assembled the NuBooks management team. We are marching towards efficiency and betterment every day.

Oumesh Sauba: NuBooks was founded in 2021 after COVID-19 pandemic. As more and more people were moving online to continue their business it was difficult not to help them with their finances.

We started with testing our AI technology first and then we incorporated our own bookkeeping cloud platform.

Driven by new-age technologies, NuBooks is a go-to accounting platform that provides accounting tools to small businesses, freelancers, and accountants to handle accounts and improve their financial performance.

The platform is backed by Artificial Intelligence that is suited for all accounting needs from reading invoices to making bookkeeping and management of finances easy.

Nubooks adapts to the needs of the users as its Al solution digitizes the information in record time and converts it to spreadsheets and quick editing.

The platform has a spectacular server capacity that can organize all information of the clients. Besides, its storage system is safe and secure in handling the data of companies.

With the highest levels of security and capacity, the users can easily organize a large number of client information.

What is your biggest USP

Oumesh Sauba: The unique selling point for NuBooks is the AI technology to process invoices for micro and small businesses. This will save them at least 1 day a month of admin or 12 days a year on average.

What made you choose this type of business?

Oumesh Sauba: As a qualified accountant, it was a natural step to digitize accounting processes and help micro and small businesses.

As digitalization is happening in every type of businesses it is important that accountancy is not left behind. NuBooks will help accountants to achieve that.

What was your mission and vision at the outset?

Oumesh Sauba: The mission is to make NuBooks accessible to all entrepreneurs and at a reasonable price.

What is your Leadership Mantra

Oumesh Sauba: Do not chase success, achieve excellence and success will follow.

What’s your company’s goals?

Oumesh Sauba: We would like to reach as many businesses as possible and help them digitize and expand their businesses.

What was the inspiration behind turning an entrepreneur

Oumesh Sauba: My dad was a big inspiration, he was an entrepreneur and taught me many things. He always said “if you provide a good service, people will look for you”. Nowadays it is a bit different with Google etc. but word of mouth is still very powerful.

What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?

Oumesh Sauba: There were many failures which we have learned from and moved on quickly. Every failure is a stepping stone towards success. We know that failures will help us to better the organization and make it successful.

Key things to consider before starting a startup

Oumesh Sauba: Nothing to consider. If you do not do it then you will always regret not doing it. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone.

If you can start then you will be successful with focus, commitment and will power. There will be many obstacles and if you will give up at the first hurdle then you should not start.

What are some of the biggest mistakes you’ve made?

Oumesh Sauba: We do not look at it as mistakes, it was more a learning curve. If an entrepreneur is making mistakes, it means that he/she is moving towards the right path. If you do not realize you are making mistakes then you are on the wrong path.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Oumesh Sauba: Being an entrepreneur is not for everyone, some people prefer to work for others or the government.

Most entrepreneurs will have focus, commitment and will power to succeed. Just get on with it and do not give up. Most people give up before even starting.

Your success tips for young and aspiring entrepreneurs

Oumesh Sauba: Being an entrepreneur is amazing, even though you cannot expect regular income as your salaried counterparts but you can decide when to work and how long to work. Your life is your own to decide. You can mess it up and become as successful as your imagination.
