IBM Consulting has asked its Indian employees to work from offices three days a week. But employees won’t be penalized if they can’t get to the workplace, he added.

The IBM Consulting Return to Workplace Playbook FAQ stated that “employees will not be penalized if they cannot come to the workplace…we understand the importance of balancing work and family life as we move toward a hybrid work model” .

The company further said it wanted to address pent-up demand from the pandemic and make up for missed opportunities in the “remote world.”

“We want to address the pent-up demand we see coming from the pandemic because we see some of what we missed in a remote-only world.

We know that coming together in person can spark ideas, the innovative thinking we’re familiar with, and tacit learning for the next generation of consultants.” by working alongside more experienced colleagues.

IBM Consulting told TOI that the company’s approach is based on flexibility, allowing individual employees to decide when and how often to collaborate in person. The approach serves both individual team members and the collective business requirements of the team.

“Our focus remains on results, not activities, and how teamwork is done because that is a better barometer of how employees are supporting the business,” the statement added, according to the TOI report.
