Pawandeep Rajan Biography
Pawandeep Rajan is an Indian singer. He is a composer, instrumentalist & actor. He predominantly singing & composing in Hindi, Kumaoni, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali & Assamese music industry.
He is very well known for his soulful singing, versatility & capability of playing countless musical instruments at the time of singing.
He won two Indian reality singing show. He won the trophy in ‘The Voice’ in 2015 & ‘Indian Idol’ in 2021.
Recently, he works as a Brand Ambassador of Uttrakhand for culture, tourism & sports. He is also appointed as the Electoral icon by the state Election commission, Uttrakhand for the assembly election of 2022.
Early life of Pawandeep Rajan:
Pawandeep was born on 27th April 1996 in a small village in Champawat district of Uttrakhand. He comes from a family with musical background.
His father’s name is Suresh Rajan, he is a renowned folk singer of Kumaoni language. Her mother’s name is Saroj Rajan.
He has two sisters named Jyotideep Rajan & Chandni Rajan. His grandmother Kabutari Devi was also a folk singer. She had given her performance at the All India Radio stations in Rampur, Najibabad & Lucknow when she was young.
Pawandeep was trained by his father & later by his paternal uncle, he was in musical field. At the age of 2 ½ years, he started playing Tabla in functions in Uttrakhand with his father.
For that, he was awarded with ‘The Youngest Table Player’. He completed his schooling from University Senior Secondary School Champawat & graduation from Kumaun University Nainital.
Pawandeep Rajan started learning singing at the age of 15. In Chandigarh, he started his career as a lead vocalist in a band named ‘RATI’.
Then, he thought to participate in reality show ‘The Voice’. He was declared winner in that show. After that, he was declared the ‘Youth Ambassador of Uttrakhand’ by the state government of Uttrakhand.
Pawandeep Rajan’s Musical Career:
During the college time he participated in college youth festival for singing & playing musical instruments.
In 2015, he came to know about the singing reality show ‘The Voice’. He participated in that & won ‘The Voice India 2015’.
He received 50-lakhs as a price money & a Alto K10 car along with a contract to release his first song with Universal Music Group.
He worked with Aron Haroon Rasheed & released two sings in his album ‘Chholiyar’ in 2016. Rajan stepped in to the music industry after winning the trophy in ‘The Voice’.
He imparts his voice for the song Yakeen for the Universal music group. From movies named Romeo & Bullet, he started his playback singing career.
Later on he started playback singing & composing for many movies in different languages from music industry.
He sang for Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi and other languages. Some of his notable work are oi dakche akash from the movie kidnap (Bengali) and ‘satrangi jhala re’ from the movie ‘panghrun’ (Marathi). He also did composition for that songs.
Along with movies & albums, he started composing & singing his own songs independently in Hindi & Kumaoni language.
He participated in the Indian singing reality show ‘Indian Idol season 12’. During the whole show, he was widely appreciated for his voice, singing prowess and flawless instrument playing skills.
During the show time, he became a household name. He amassed a huge fan base in India as well as abroad.
Eventually, he won the show in ‘Greatest Finale Ever’ on 15th August 2021.Since childhood, he has been doing concerts & shows.
He became a well sought after artist for musical concerts.Until now, he has performed in over 1200 shows & concerts in 13 countries all over the world.
Acting:
Rajan tried his hand on acting also. As he never considers himself as an actor. In the Marathi movie FU (Friendship Unlimited), he acted a supporting role. In a drama series 1962-the wae in the hills he played a character named Rodae (Nido Tana) to display his acting skills in 2021.
