Pinnaparaju Krishna Mohan: The name “Udya Dbanu Sahasrabha” signifies “Rising with the light of a thousand suns,” symbolizing strength, hope, and collective power.

It reflects India’s rapidly growing needs and the belief that communities require light and guidance during challenging times. The imagery of many suns highlights the combined energy needed to transform society and positions the foundation as a torchbearer for positive change.

What is UDS Foundation’s long-term vision for the communities it serves?

Pinnaparaju Krishna Mohan: UDS Foundation aims to uplift communities through focused work across education, health, skilling, environmental sustainability, and disaster response.

With current interventions impacting nearly 100,000 people, the long-term vision is to reach one million beneficiaries annually by 2030.

The foundation seeks to create empowered, resilient communities that can thrive through improved access to essential services and opportunities.

How do you prioritize between your different mission pillars — education, health, skills training, livelihood, environment?

Could you walk us through a typical skills training course that UDS offers? What skills are taught, how long is the course, and how do you measure success?

Pinnaparaju Krishna Mohan: UDS Foundation began its skilling journey with Warehouse and Logistics Management and Cybersecurity, and is now expanding to ten additional trades including AI, IT, and traditional vocational courses.

Programs typically span several weeks to a few months, combining theory with hands-on practice. Success is measured through trainee assessments, certification outcomes, job placements, and the long-term employability of participants across industries.
